  • What kinda of instruments do you have?

So there's 24 peeps with more guitars than hands...now to figure out what ya got?

I've limited the poll to stringed instruments, otherwise we'd have a few too many options! Feel free to post anything missing from the list.

Classical : x3. One I play regularly and two I'm keeping as gifts for niece/nephew. Considering my love for nylon's, it's surprising I don't have something high end, but my ergonomic one works for now.
Electric Guitar (6 string) : x3. The MIJ Fender strat which brings me loads of joy and the pimpocaster which is contributing to my ever increasing baldness ?. Also have a Hohner G2, but it isn't really in playable condition. more like wall art.
Electric Bass (4 String) : x5. Three short scale basses (64 Harmony, Cort Action Jr, 60's President) and two std scale (Hofner 'punk' & Shergold Modulator). Should really thin out this collection a little... ???
Electric Bass (5 String) : Cort Artisan, because you need a low B string. Really, you do...
Ukulele : Yahama guitelele, it's got 6 strings, but I think it qualifies. Fun little thing and great to travel with.

Other : A variety of bits. The most interesting of which is a Roland TD-12 drumkit I can't bear to let go. Can't play it either, but that's another story. Harmonica's, african percussion, shakers, jaw harps and a few other minor things lying around that hardly ever get used.
      cool topic ?
i've limited the 'ticks' to the instruments i actually own. for instance, i bought my daughter a nylon string i pick up every now and then, but i didn't tick it.

also in my house is a yamaha clavinova, a technics keyboard and a starter electronic drum set. oh, and three or four blues harps i have no idea how to play but seem to accumulate with alarming alacrity. once i get the drum set upstairs into the 'studio' and talking proper-like to reaper, i might use it proper-like to track songs. that's when i have time to sort my shizzle out - december might just be that month, with a little luck.

i would just love to get that keyboard hooked up to reaper as well, but the thing is nigh on 20 years old - the missus bought it for me as an engagement pressie. 'twould appear they speak different and incompatible dialects of midi...

EDIT: oh, the specifics: check in the signature...
These are the guitars I use

        Every Day Use -
Ibanez Nylon - cheap but surprisingly great action and tone, bought this for my camping trips
Cort Earth Mini - 3/4 size steel - quite a big sound for the size ! Play it a lot. Also for camping
Yamaha Bass - This is the Wife's but I play it a lot(Or at least I try to)

        Live Appearances
Takamine Nylon - hectically brilliant action
Takamine Steel - Superb early 90's top of the range, sounds good plugged in

        On my wall
Yamaha Nylon - from the 70's, great tone, lots of dents and bruises
Eterna Steel - Made by Yamaha in the 70's, Still in need of TLC,
Suzuki Nylon - 3/4 size, huge sound and great to play

        In Need of repair
Peavey T-60 (Electric) - The cat did a flying Ninja and knocked it off the stand!
Tanglewood Jazz Box (Electric) - Bought many years ago, needs some electric stuff done

And I still have place for one more. Hopefully next year I am going to add a Tele of some sort! Still deliberating between a Strat and a Tele but so far the Tele is ahead!
          Interesting numbers...!

2x 8 String guitars! That low-low E is such a thing, if you've never heard it chugging away, it's something new to experience ??? I'm still in awe every band practice when I hear it djenting away.

And plenty of basses...y'all been hiding behind the guitars?

And I guess everyone has a flavour of acoustic?
            Only 2 guitars now...
Though the J Mascis Jazzmaster, MusicMan St Vincent and the Gibson 339 are haunting me. ☹ (need MUCH more money)
              I've got:

              Electric:

2x 7 strings - an Ibanez RG1527 Prestige (my baby) and an Ibanez RG7321
              1x 8 string - an Ibanez RG2228 Prestige
              1x 6 string - an Ibanez RG321
              1x 5 string bass - a Sterling Ray35

              Acoustic:
1x Steel String - Ovation Standard Elite
1x Nylon String - Cort AC100 (or something)

On the unique side of acoustic my nylon string has had all it's frets removed and the board covered in resin so it is now completely fretless ?
                1 x electric Telecaster
                1 x Cort Action bass
1 x Cort dreadnought (with pups)
1 x Ibanez Artwood (with pups)
1 x Tanglewood jumbo acoustic (with pups)
                1 x 1968 Hofner 12 string acoustic with pups ?
