+1!

@Bluetone I'm only a 1/4 of the way through the first part, my brain exploded at all the info. 👍️ Was thinking of suggesting to break it down into parts...but yeah, you are already doing that - it's a monster topic for sure.

Would you mind if I did a little formatting? Nothing major (no editing/corrections) just formatting (s)ome headings and minor layout/typesetting kinda stuff). I think that'll help readability in the long term - I've and idea to sticky this in the recording section.

Oh & dig the song - anything with skating in it gets my vote 😆 - reminds me a little of the stone jets? Congratz n the local airplay, may it morph into international too!

V8 Thanks, V8. I was actually bummed to find the editing functionality disappeared after, what, a few hours had lapsed? There were some things I wanted to go back to fix this morning...oh well. Yes, sure, clean up as you see fit!

Though the album is quite eclectic in terms of genre, most of it is a lot more in the rock camp than this song. (Will check out Stone Jets, thanks!)

Cool, not much cleaning - just a few headings n things. When you say editing disappeared -, can you not edit your post? You should be able to - regardless of how much time passed. If so, let me know, I'll look into it.

The forum uses markdown - fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Feel free to spam us with the album/tracks as you go along 👍️ Always interested to hear local stuff!

V8 Thanks - no, the little three-dot menu button to enable editing has disappeared for my posts now...

Jaaa, it wasn't really my intention, but, actually, consistency of sound and mixing may be relevant because some of the songs are so different from each other. The rest of the album is at whatever service you may use, here: [https://songwhip.com/luckypacket/ancient-history]

Bizarre, Perhaps try logging out and in again - If on Chrome, we've been having issues - clearing cookies in Std mode might help, or using Incognito mode (p.i.t.a I know!)

    @NorioDS - any ideas?

Also, because this is a guitar forum, GEAR:

The acoustic is a Taylor 214CE-DLX-K.

Nearly every electric guitar sound on the album is an American Standard Tele with upgraded pickups (Fender Original Vintage - fairly cheap, but I shot them out with CS Nocasters and others and they just work better in this guitar than anything else/anything more expensive) and a Callaham vintage-style bridge (which is really the biggest and best upgrade I ever did - what a noticeable change!).

I did use a 1972 Fender Strat (also with a Callaham bridge) in a couple of places. The other guitarist also used his Gibson Les Paul Standard for his parts.

Drive sounds were nearly all provided by a Klon KTR, with an Xotic Effects SL Drive and occasionally a BB Preamp used to thicken the stew. I also used an EP Booster, though very sparingly, to change things up.

Amp was a Dr Z Maz 18 NR combo, along with a Vox MV50 through a Jensen C12K-loaded cab.

Well, that mystery is now solved thanks to @NorioDS 😅 - I'll make some formatting today and then you can let me know if there's anything you'd like to change - happy to hammer into a shape that you prefer.

Bluetone The rest of the album is at whatever service you may use, here: [https://songwhip.com/luckypacket/ancient-history]

Cool - thanks! Feel free to talk about/promo the band on the forum, we're cool like that. More ears is always good.

        Nice!

Heh, always good - again , feel free to start up a 'gear porn thread' @guidothepimmp usually insists on pics 😉

@Bluetone Right-o that's my first draft of formatting - really simply, I tried to follow your flow and just group things into related bite size chunks that grab the eye but also make it easier for peeps to zero in on topics/concepts (not only on first reading but for future reference.)

Happy to change anything or revert to previous version (I made a copy 😉 ).

And I only spotted ONE typo (jell = gel), which is mighty, mighty impressive. Even with spell check I make plenty! 😅

V8 Thanks, V8. It is jell, though. 😆

        • V8 replied to this.

          Bluetone Potato - potato 😆 - reverted 👍

          ..and yes I did google it - eish, I can't believe 😉

Indeed, and small potatoes, really. 😅 Thanks for investing the time, V8.

          • V8 replied to this.

Bluetone No worries, great post - little time spent - you had it well laid out!

            But Jell.... 🤦‍♂️ 😆

guidothepimmp I've tried a few times but it just says something went wrong... Can't seem to attach anything.

              • V8 replied to this.

Bluetone Ack, it happens. I know @NorioDS has done some fixes, so the usual things I used to run into don't apply no more.

Just done a test and I can upload attachments.

Just some troubleshooting quickly : Size of attachment (in mb) and file extension (e.g. bmp, jpg, jpeg?) and browser (Chrome/Firefox/etc). info please Can't promise that'll help us, but any info could be useful.

                thanks! 👍

Two pics (.jpg) of around 4MB to 5MB each, via Edge. I did also try with Chrome, though, with the same result.

                    Bluetone Good news - I also (finally) encountered errors - with any image size over 1mb. I tried 10mb, 5mb, 3mb, 2mb & 1.5mb - all failed.

Then succeeded with any image under 1mb.

Last time I bumped into this @NorioDS corrected me - so let's wait till he weighs in (or re-size images to < 1mb, total pita, I know!)
