The Guitar Talk SUPER Challenge
guidothepimmp Absolutely love it and that you got the family involved, priceless!

Here's my contribution, a heavyish cover of Queen's Show Must Go On.
I recorded the vocals around two and a half years ago, when I performed it on stage in a pantomime but never did anything with it because the backing track I used was down 3 semis (I'm no Freddy) and got a little bubbly. So when the Ambitious challenge came up I thought it was the perfect opportunity to dust it off and build something to support them. I've tried to keep elements of the original while giving it a distinct flavour of my own.
Stoffeltoo thanks Stoffeltoo.. very kind of you
Very good Bevan.. sounds great

Yeti Great vocals and exquisite guitar lead.
Not one of the easiest Queen tunes and really well produced and mixed.
I need to learn from the masters....?

Dig the tongue 'n cheek, great blues playing guidothepimmp.
Queen? Wow! Talk about a tall order, very impressive Yeti
This song was covered by about every blues artist since it was made popular by - The Legend - Louis Armstrong.
So I decided it was my turn to butcher it.
Enjoy ?
Nice Ruan.. did you do the vocals? Love the sound. Has a clutch feel about it
RCVN Stunned! I never thought i'd hear such a rendition. Originafantasticalus!
OK guys, here we go:
I really wanted to play every instrument, but in the end I ran out of time and sampled the original track.
guidothepimmp Yeap, attempted singing and ended up chucking reverb and compression at it.
klaasvakie This melted my cheese.
klaasvakie Joh! Head bumping, butt thumping and air pumping. You had everything bopping in my man cave! Simply awesome and yeah, sometimes less is more.
This comp with this level of entries is going to make voting extremely difficult ??
Wow, just gave all the entries (so far) a good listen and I'm super impressed. There is so much to love in every track and I'm jealous of all your guys playing, singing as well as your recording chops. Some serious effort went into these, well done all.
Stoffeltoo my thoughts exactly
The quality of this challenge's entries are absolutely superb! You guys put in a lot of effort with these! WELL DONE!!
I’ve put together a short review of the various entries… although I do feel little foolish giving a crit on such fantastic work.
@Stoffeltoo
Love the instrumental version. Particularly enjoy the chord melodies and the guitar tone in general. If I have a criticism it’s that the drums are a little bubbly as if they’ve been exported at low quality at some point in the process. Overall love it.
@morph
Fantastic rendition. Love the tone and balance overall and the use of panning. Particularly enjoyed the acoustic on the left channel, is that a bit of tremelo? Nothing wrong with those vocals at all. Only complaint… and I’m stretching is that the end is a little abrupt. (My vote for what it’s worth)
@studmissile
Great track as always, love the drums, love the synth build up in the beginning and the overall structure. I love how you’ve incorporated your normal vibe and given it a more poppy flavour. The only thing that I would work on is your position of your vocals in the mix… I don’t think it’s the level though. I reckon it just needs a tweak with the graphic EQ to bring out the sweet spots. Should help them to cut a little more and let us hear more of your words.
@guidothepimmp
Congrats on your first DAW experience. Hope the bug has bitten! You’ve got some great tones in there and the ‘misinterpretation’ is really funny. Enjoyed the cameos and whistle verse. Vocals are great although straining a little on the low note, may have been worth shifting it up a tone or so to make it more comfortable.
@RCVN
Cool groove and nice sound. Mix is really solid with each part clearly distinct. Vocals give a cool swagger and attitude. Really like the multi-guitar instrumental parts. Only criticism is that the rhythm loop seems a little tight. If you lengthen it a little then it won’t stand out as much.
@klaasvakie
Love the mashup idea. You’ve managed to blend the live guitar and samples to really create an enormous sound. Timing on the portion where the guitars follow the unlimited theme could be a bit tighter but otherwise really cool.
@guidothepimmp and @RCVN definitely roping you guys into vocals at the next garage days!
