Congratulations Wern101, nicely played! And thank you Norio.
Congratulations @wern101 !
wern101 I personally miss the rhythm guitars though, IMO I think it would have made for a ‘fuller’ sound? What setting(s) did you use for the lead?
Thanks Wern. I deliberately went for a 80's feel with some cheesy synth tones. The rhythm guitar on top of that was a bit much, so I left most of it out. I could've done a better job with the mix which may have resulted in that "fuller" sound.
I used a Rectifier amp sim on my GT100, played on my Ibanez AF105. Single coil guitars sounded a little thin and the Super 58 humbuckers on that hollow-body offered much more substance to my tone. I am sure I can do better with the tools I have, but am still a novice on the overdrive/distortion tone front. Clean tones have always been my thing.
NorioDS I'd be happy to support that. It just needs a deadline or it'll drag on. 14 days sound good?
I think that's fair. I suck at mixing though. If there's anyone that can assist it would be greatly appreciated! ?
V8 A evolution of the funky a$$ patch I've been working on for a while now. A combo of auto-wah, drive, compressor and octaver - it's syrup-y bass goodness - Kinda synth-y when you hold notes and percussive if playing staccato.
Ah! The secrets are being revealed. Thanks V8 Didn't think it could have been a Bass!
Jazzman105 Thanks Wern. I deliberately went for a 80's feel with some cheesy synth tones. The rhythm guitar on top of that was a bit much, so I left most of it out. I could've done a better job with the mix which may have resulted in that "fuller" sound.

Thanks for the 'how to'. Great to learn from other muso's. Don't be too hard on yourself. I think the tone was great! And we are 'all' always seeking for that specific tone. I guess it's the guitarist's bane
Thanks again everyone. :-)
Voucher received thank you! Watch out Takealot - here I come!!!
NorioDS If you buy any guitar stuff, we'd love to see!!! ?
Of Course! I may just go for that Squier by Fender Acoustic. Been meaning to get another acoustic for a while. I know it's not a 'top of the line' but definitely a step-up from my current gear. + The kids will probably also benefit from it... if I ever let them near it.
Congrats Wern. You truly deserve this win.
Been quite round these parts!
Guys, I need help with a mash-up/mix of the comp. I really really!! suck at mixing. ?
If anyone is able to assist?
Tnx.
Maybe i can help but what is the deadline?
Send me a message to my gmail address with requirements and i will see if traktion can do its magic.
Stoffeltoo Maybe i can help but what is the deadline?
It was 14 days since 5 days ago, so 9 days left...
No specific requirements I think. We just wanna do a mash up of all the entries. @V8 also suggested it. Maybe he has some ideas?
I wouldn't know where to begin... ?
Jo Jo, a stiff one. Going to give it a try on monday
OK I have finished the mashup will send it to the competitors for a review.
If happy, just indicate so on this discussion and I will send to NorioDS for further use.
wern101 Done! e mail sent
Stoffeltoo Received. Sounds good to me! Thanks Stoffeltoo!
I don't like it. I think we're forcing the issue. Perhaps just leave the winning entry as is?
Thanks for the feedback still waiting for responses via email then i will pass to Norio for final say in the matter
