wern101 I personally miss the rhythm guitars though, IMO I think it would have made for a ‘fuller’ sound? What setting(s) did you use for the lead?

Thanks Wern. I deliberately went for a 80's feel with some cheesy synth tones. The rhythm guitar on top of that was a bit much, so I left most of it out. I could've done a better job with the mix which may have resulted in that "fuller" sound.
I used a Rectifier amp sim on my GT100, played on my Ibanez AF105. Single coil guitars sounded a little thin and the Super 58 humbuckers on that hollow-body offered much more substance to my tone. I am sure I can do better with the tools I have, but am still a novice on the overdrive/distortion tone front. Clean tones have always been my thing.

    NorioDS I'd be happy to support that. It just needs a deadline or it'll drag on. 14 days sound good?

    V8 A evolution of the funky a$$ patch I've been working on for a while now. A combo of auto-wah, drive, compressor and octaver - it's syrup-y bass goodness - Kinda synth-y when you hold notes and percussive if playing staccato.

    Thanks for the 'how to'. Great to learn from other muso's. Don't be too hard on yourself. I think the tone was great! And we are 'all' always seeking for that specific tone. I guess it's the guitarist's bane

              Of Course! I may just go for that Squier by Fender Acoustic. Been meaning to get another acoustic for a while. I know it's not a 'top of the line' but definitely a step-up from my current gear. + The kids will probably also benefit from it... if I ever let them near it.

                Sidetrack: Yeah I have my nephews coming over for an "Xbox weekend" and I got EA Access so I could get Fifa 17 for free for them. Not sure if I'll let them play now, though ?

                              Well ok. I'll be honest that I am lost for a topic of the next challenge. Maybe we should focus on the TV Theme song challenge first? Otherwise we would have three challenges running together... ?

                                LOL @wern101! I agree! I was gonna wait till after the TV Theme song one and then announce the next "normal" one. If you're looking for any ideas, here are some I've just thumbsucked:

                                • Slip 'n Slide: Record something original that makes extensive use of slides.
                                • Bendy: (As above but for bends.)
                                • Trembling Tremolo: (As above but for tremolo picking.)

                                And I'm sure some of the other members can also thumbsuck some interesting ideas ?
