V8 & Wern101

I was supposed to collaborate with Wern101, but we didn't manage to. But I really loved his voice over idea, so I went with it - hence the collaboration. Last minute recording, spent less than 2hours on it - it's quite simple, but I reckon it's got some real snap to the funk!

    Jazzman105 Entry

    I went for an all-out 80's feel with this one and I'm still sticking to the same production recipe. The drums is the only programmed track and I play all other instruments... all tracked & mixed using Garageband on my Ipad.

    So that is it, these are the five entries received. Happy listening and voting

      Listened to all of em just now. Really hung up with a vote, trying to figure out what to base my vote on. Some amazing stuff!

        wern101 On the point of what to base votes on... Everyone is of course free to vote as they see fit, but I think that it is only fair that "spec-fidelity" (to what extent the entry is within spec) should enjoy a high degree of consideration and influence on how we vote.

          Finally voted - not easy!

          If I stuck my producer hat on : I dug stud's track and Wern's track. In a ideal world, I'd declare them both winners and mix Wern's voice-over with Stud's track - reckon that's a great representation of the fine peeps here at GuitarTalk ?

          "Spec-fidelity" - he-he, like that! We do tend to bend the 'rules' around here a fair bit, sigh...head shaking...ya'know guitarists ?

            Since I couldn't vote for myself (duh) or for Meron's track on which I was named a collaborator, I was left with three choices, which didn't make voting easier. ?

            I'll comment on the individual tracks later.

              wern101 I was seriously set on voting for my own entry. Am i misunderstanding the rules, is it considered in poor taste? ?

                Jazzman105 meant no disrespect! I guess its always been a 'rule'? Not really published or anything.
                Stoffeltoo, could you clarify?

                  Jazzman105 It's been done before (I've done it once myself!), some might say it's in poor taste...but I think if you feel it's the track you like the most, then vote for it.
