I used to live in SA and use this forum all the time in 2009 and 10 time. I figured I would post here again and see how many people remember me.
I think I am best remembered for bad mouthing Ibanez and the Parlatones relentlessly.

Now I live in the US and play in a touring band, with an album and a few EPs under my belt. some supporting tours and headlining tours. Extensive national radio play and all that fun stuff. MOST important all the gear you could imagine..... in the last few years I have managed to accumulate
Dr Z Carmen Ghia
Dr Z maz 18
Dr Z maz 38
Dr Z Stangray
Fender Deville 410
Ac15c1
ac30 Tb
Blonde Vibrolux
Tophat Vibratrem
Orange ad30
Orange rockverb 100
And a bunch more randoms.

And more jazzmasters than I can play in a show.
Hopefully some of the old guys are still one here.
    nice one Mika.....

been wondering how its going for you...best wishes man
Well done - sounds like you're enjoying yourself, and doing what you love to do as well!
        Good Stuff Mika

Although I must confess that I bought an IBANEZ acoustic amp recently(but it's not pointy!)
I could only dream to own a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia... nice to see that dreams come true. Happy trails Mika.

Now we just need to hear from 7th son (Daniel I think?) and all the loops will have closed
thanks guys... its been a fun few years but hard too. I think when I last came on here I was just getting married. Well all that gear and touring gave me about three years of marriage then a nasty divorce.
It all works out though... or so far. Still no pointy guitas in my camp but definitely more acoustics.
Oh and I love the Ghia, however its got a very specific voice. I gravitate live to my maz38 with z best cab and a Dr Z stanfray with z best cab. So much Punch it hurts.
odd, i was looking at an old ibanez-bashing post in which you made an appearance the other day, and wondering where the heck you were. greetings man, glad things are more-or-less swinging and round-abouting for ya

                  dh|
Hey man! Glad to hear about the success with the band!
Sucks about the divorce though... At least now you can spend your hard earned cash on more gear ?
I follow the band's posts on FB but it's hard to get much of an impression besides that you're playing out a lot. How do you feel it's going? You think there's a good chance you could really crack it and make a big splash nationally?

Some of the old guys are gone. This forum's not as fun as it used to be, to be honest. But it's still occasionally interesting.

Sorry to hear about the divorce. Sounds like it must have been a pretty intense time all-round since you got back to the states.

Edit: But yeah, annoying people here is still a good time ?
Yissis!!! you got a lot of stuff. I like you.
Hey Mika! Welcome back! Those are some unbelievable amps you have there!! I have your old big muff if I'm correct

I wish GFSA had a like button.

Hi Mika... it's been far too quiet without you.
Ha yeah it seem quieter than I remember... In need of some provocative threads.
Yeah man divorce honestly was the best thing to ever happen. It allowed me time to tour and make some great bad decisions. I honestly mean it when I say some great bad decisions.
Yeah bands I learnt are rarely about playing massive fests and living some rock n roll life. Playing in an national band thats tours involve being time efficient driving in a van for hours with guys you know the worst things about. Its about doing that 3 weeks running playing to crowds who often dont care about your band and if they do its only one song. Its also knowing how much whiskey and drugs are bad before a show and which girls are bad news and which ones probably have clean showers and hot water, which is generally the most important thing on tour, showers and laundry.
I just got back from a knoxville ........atlanta run and picked up another jazzmaster.
Making a bigger splash is hard to imagine how much work that would be, we recently had a massive amount of interest from a label in california called Sargent House. so that could boost things ahead.

Yeah. It's time to post the "Van Halen is rubbish," thread. ?

Very cool for us to hear about. You know that no matter how dedicated, there's really not a big enough scene in SA to really do that stuff. What have you learned about promotion? Do you make most of your money at the door, or through merchandising?

SA Music scene is tough... from what I've seen. I haven't "tried" to "make it" though... so just what I've heard.

Really interested in hearing some of your stories man! Highs and lows...
