So it's next Thursday, guys. Come along and support the GFSAers involved (OK... throw your vrot tamaties at the first one then cheer the rest).

      In running order
      • X-rated Bob
      • Days Of Rain (Sean's band)
      • Mike Burger
      • Pete M
      • Deefstes with guest Rudolph Raath
Fingerpicker - so often man of the match at TJ's - will be doing the sound.

Mike Burger used to post to this forum but hasn't done so for at least two years. He's a very fine finger style player. He'll be playing instrumentals, but as for the rest (apart from me) I have no idea what they'll be playing. I was contemplating a themed show but dropped that idea and so everybody has, as usual for my shows, carte blanche. I, like you, will find out on the night.

Usual venue: Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Admission is R25. Lots of parking. Food and drinks available.

i'm gonna try my best to be there - haven't seen mike in ages. and as for seeing deefstes on stage...
I'll pop in........seeing that I stay just up the road from the Venue now.......
A late change to the bill - which is now even stronger.

Arno and his mate Nic Slade have agreed to play and will now open proceedings. The rest of the line up stays the same.

So another good reason for heading for Marks Park on the evening of the sixth.

No. Which is OK - the line up is stronger now.

                But maybe not Richer ?

Would be good to see the Dogs as well. Last time I saw them as a full band was at Dylan's in Rockey Street
Well, I'm here in Jozi and finally reconnected to the web. See you all on 6 Feb. 8)
I'm really looking forward to this one. I always look forward to the opportunity to perform on stage but this time in particular I'm looking forward to getting to meet and see on stage PeteM, Arno West and these other GFSA'ers. I reckon it's gonna be a good one - And I'm practicing my fingers raw ?

Squonk, it's just gonna be myself and Nic strumming some tunes at TJ's, but we are booked with the full DD at the Radium sometime in March. I'll let you know about the exact date some other time......don't have my diary with me now....then you must come check the band out cos Rockey Street was 20 years ago.

Sorry for the confusion, all, and an extra apology to Arno. Once Arno accepted the invitation to perform at TJs I discussed billing with him IRO the mail shot that goes out on the TJs mailing list. He asked that it not be just "the Diamond Dogs". I made note of this and then got all excited on GFSA. So blame any confusion on me.

But any way you cut the cake Arno and Nic will be on the stage at TJs next week.

Please note that the robot at the corner of Judith and Barry Hertzog is out. Usually there are points men there during the PM rush hour, but it still gets backed up. It might be better to take side roads if possible.

There are permanent camera traps on Barry Hertzog to the south of Judith and on Beyers Naude to the north of Judith. Also Barry Hertzog often has ad hoc traps either side of Judith.

Twenty Five measly bucks. Bar service. Plenty of parking. And for that price you get Arno West, Deefstes, Sean, PeteM and other wonderful folks.
Folks, there were crocs up on that stage, but not, I repeat NOT on my feet.
A big thanks to all the GFSAers - and their colleagues - who took to the stage last night. You provided fine and varied entertainment for the audience.
great evening all round, and good to meet PeteM and Arno.
                                well done guys :applause: :yup:
That was a great evening... wonderful to meet fellow forumites.
                                    Lovely Jubbly

                                    It was well run!
                                    The sound was good stuff!
                                    All the performers rocked!

The cherry on the top for me, is the Venue itself. It's well decorated, spacious and acoustically pleasing on the ear.
One of the FINER venues this side of the Limpopo!
The audience are always behind the performers.

So huge hats off to all who were involved to make it a GRAND evening.
