haha we will let you slide this time! Hehe! But on the other that is very true, creating false pretences and such like GH can cause havoc upon kids that might one day be the next jimi hendrix! ?
GuitarHero is EVIL!!!
I'm a sucker for Guitar Hero... but I don't play it much on my own since I bought an extra guitar for my fiancee. Friday nights are pretty much booked now ?
Reminds of the south park episode about guitar hero, did anyone watch it? was pretty funny.
Anyway, got some bad news for guitarists and good news guitar hero fanatics, Peavey has taken the leap forward to making custom guitar hero controllers:

And while i'm on the topic of customizing, check out this crazy guy showing how to make your own controller:

ok that is so wrong
GH at least got my little finger which I broke a while ago to do things again.. But as for playing the real thing.. Well one just has to look at my Facebook profile picture to see how awesome a GH player I am!!hahaha
It's fun though to get the fingers loose, but that Dragon Force song is EVIL!!! Expert is imposible.

The only thing that I will give to GH is that it improve hand eye coordination.

Lots of people say it screws up your playing. When we are really bored we drive to Incredible Connection and play it in there for a couple of hours. The sales people and sometimes even the manager join in, so much fun. For everyone in Pretoria, there is a Guitar Hero Showdown at Herr Gunters in the Square every Thursday evening. I think in Wednesdays there's a Singstar Showdown. Some horrific voices, but after you've knocked back a couple you don't really mind. You get on stage and do a duet.
Its typical of KISS to get on the merchandising bandwagon!!!Manfred Klose wrote: Anyway, got some bad news for guitarists and good news guitar hero fanatics, Peavey has taken the leap forward to making custom guitar hero controllers:
I lub GH, except i cant play it on hard. Through the fire and the flames on medium is as far as i've been able to play ?
3 months later
Rehash....
I played GH once. I found it a little confusing at first cos you want to play it like a guitar but in the end you have to pay it ike a video game.
I found myself being consumed with desire to practice more on it, then I realised that if people spent as much time on a real instrument, they could one day be featured in a video game.
what a waste of time, like watching survivor

I've played Guitar Hero at my friend's place. It's fun. ?

If someone's intererested, check out frets on fire, free pc version of GH and it plays GH files
The one thing that GH has done, is introduce a lot of kids to a whole new catalogue of music. Without GH, do you think any current 12-year-old would give a damn who Led Zeppelin were? Now these bands have found a whole new audience, and are seriously coining it. Apparently Aerosmith made more money from their Guitar Hero special edition than from any of their albums - its insane!
Well as stated on my intro thread before if it wasn't for GH3 I wouldn't be on this forum. Me and Nita loved playing GH on the weekends, got two "controllers" so we tackled the game together one on lead and and. When I got to expert and almost mastered it we started toying with the idea to get the real deal. And so ya 7 months later I got three babies, a decent amp and floorpod. Girl has a very decent baby, decent amp and a pile of plectrums.
Absolutely! It got my 12 year old laaitie playing as well. He loves music, but wasnt interested in taking up the guitar. Until he bought GH for himself for his birthday. Three weeks later he wanted to have an electric and lessons!

Sounds like bittersweet to me. Some good, some bad.
Some people prefer the real thing, like me... Nothing like jamming on a Martin D45 BZ as old as I am, or a LP 20years my senior or even a beautiful new Larrivee or Collings! It's my passion, making music with my hands...
If I am playing Call of Duty and some army blokes tell me I know nothing about war, I'd say yeah, who cares...
It's a GAME??? Is that not the idea behind it?
and I have never even played GH, and I'm not planing on rushing out to try it either.

those Peavey things are a waste of wood IMO
ja, but you won't practice going out and killing people. It's like playing the SIMS, using all your brain power to win the game, then forgetting about school, failing and then wondering why the lives in the game are better than your own.Brentcgp wrote: If I am playing Call of Duty and some army blokes tell me I know nothing about war, I'd say yeah, who cares...

I'm sure there are good and bad things to it. What I do know is that my mates who play GH, pay to come and watch me play the real thing.
