i've had this problem. but just with a guitar

solution: i put the the guitar in a bigger case with some chunks of charcoal (yes charcoal, the woody burned type) it sucks out any of the smells, left it overnight and all the bad smells were gone the next day

cajons are way cool, its a drum in a box, and a good option for low level venues

i like the Z , it sounds abit more indie, but could go down well, sticks easier. The Z could also be a cool feature in the logo

I Recently got rid of my old dinosaur 76 key midi keyboard controller, and upgraded (yes!!) to a smaller 49 key keyboard with more functions and usb powered got alot more space now to work around

Samsom Graphite 49, its a pretty awesome keyboard for the price, i have set it up to control Reaper (this was simple enough to do without reading the manual, but it comes with setups for all the daws except reaper, funny how they always try and exclude the underdog )

I can control the pans and volumes on the first 16 channels, by shifting through 2 banks, i only use this for volume automation and in the initial tracking, and got the 16 function buttons setup for record enables , which is very handy.
I thought i was gonna miss all those extra keys but turns out i never needed them, just shift through the octaves if i need lower or higher keys.

Very entertaining band to watch !!! ?

What guitar shops should i get out to, i have been to marshall woodmead and music connection before, any other shops worth getting to for some potential GAS?

I found that most of the venues were all booked months in advance, even dough i did start booking gigs 3 months in advance. and some of them wanted upfront payment to perform at the venue, which seems a little crazy to me.

and most of the smaller band don't even bother to reply to their emails.

in cape town you can get gigs together by making a few phone calls without any hassle.

as the title says.

My band, Stone Jets will heading on our very first tour, and what better place than Gauteng.
I call it cowboy country cause organizing gigs is so much different than cape town !

well if you got the basic chords down by using some theory

Example in key of C:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7
C | Dmin | Emin | F | G | Amin | Bdim

But there is a possible key change like you suspect in the bridge, learn to play the melody on guitar, check what notes it is you are playing , and go and find out what chords (broken down into Triads / arrpegios) could possibly fit over those notes. i hope this make sense......

Do any of you CPT guys know of Electric Avenue Music in Bellville? Anyone had any dealings with them?

One should not need to break taps in rolled steel angle. Did you predrill at the correct size? Did you use II, I and 0 taps in that order? at first i worked to roughly, and as my hand got lazy i lost focus, and was going to fast, first time working with taps, wrong technique, so i learned alot

yes from scratch.

I used angle iron, alot patenience , good measureing techniques, drill and threaded the hole with a hand tap.
it was for a permanent installation dough, where i don't plan on moving things around, but still have the choice to do so if i have to, was low cost as well, went through about 3 taps (it must have been close to holes i think)

a few months ago i searched far and wide and phoned alot of suppliers, and no one had any. so i just ended up making them myself.......
