Anyone here own one of these chaps?
May sound like an odd question, but if you do... have you tried to run vocals through it? :-\

No, but I've played through a few.

No. Have you? ? Best way to find out is to try...

Hmmmmm.......personal experience from slumming it (no insult to You intended!!) but, generally, a guitar amp is a guitar amp and a PA is a PA. Not often will you find that a guitar amp responds well to a microphone and/or a guitar at the same time. Too much of a compromise. Experiment though - You may come up with something totally new and different !
Edit: Please don't forget a wee bit of commission if You succeed!

I ran vocals through my amp yesterday. It definitely colours them. You'd be better off through an acoustic amp and best off through a PA.
That being said, running your vox through a fuzz pedal and wah and then to the Fender clean channel on my amp is pretty damn epic. ? ? ?

Follow Chocklits path into vocal obscurity!!
? Chocklit Bhai - You bring a smile to my face every time!

I never have but nor would I... I'd not expect decent results but if you have to then do it.
I once owned a Fender Bassman top with four inputs and used to play everything through there when we jammed in my neighbour's backyard.
If you have no alternative go for it.
(At the moment I only have mic leads with three pin connections or I'd put it the the test for you) ?

Yeah - obviously a guitar amp will colour the sound, but that might be what you are looking for one day. ?

I have. My band don't have no PA so I use a smaller amp (bass amp ironically), and vocals use my 212R. Its not ideal, but it certainly does the job. The reverb is a nice touch too

Would it not be better to vocal through the bass amp and ply guitar through 212R? Bass amps tend to give a fuller sound. ???

The reason I ask, is because I actually heard it being done recently, and has been pointed out, it does colour it... However, yes, imho, it made for a very unique sound.
One which I actually really liked. PA's are fine, if you need to actually use it to perform live, or in a band environment. I have no intention of either ?
Right now, this is purely for the self gratification, of composing and recording. Im slowly dusting the cobwebs off of the recording skills again :?
As I mentioned, I actually really liked the sound that I heard insofar as using a dedicated combo amp for the vocals. It sounded kind of raw, which was pretty cool.
The amp I heard this through was indeed a Fender, which was quite similar to the Frontman. My current head and cab, I dont think is suited to this, seen as though it is a single input, valve affair, centered around very high gain.
And besides all that, Im certain the entire Berea in Durban does NOT want to hear my singing :roflmao:
I think, as Alan suggested, I need to find someone who either owns one, or is selling one, to test it out and see for myself.
I also have my eye on a Shure mike atm, which is on sale.
