I was chatting with some of you awesome peeps in the chat when we got talking about GFSA merchandise.
So far we're thinking...
T-shirts (Black, white, red)
Caps
Picks
Mugs
Poker tables (Fritz ?)
Straps
Of course, we'd just start out with something simple like T-Shirts but please post some ideas. If you can make something (like Fritz' poker tables and Alan's friend's straps) feel free to offer your services. We can then chat privately about pricing, shipping and so on.
I, for one, can't wait to have a coupla GFSA T-Shirts in my wardrobe!

Should the T- shirt print company be in Joburg or Cape town or somewhere else and then whe just courier it. Or each province a different company ? If whe know whe can always just yellow pages it in each province. Maybe vote on a design if there is not one already chosen. I have noticed there is allot of graphic designers around here.

Mmmm yea I can get just about anything printed using dye sublimation. SO much better than screen printing in my view, as the colours actually go into the fabric, instead of stuck on top like screen printing. Mmmm maybe I should look at building some stuffs...

I definitely agree that we should have another competition and, whoever wins, gets their design on future GFSA T-shirts plus, probably, a free T-shirt or something I can afford ?
The only sort of restriction would be that I'd want the original logo font to be used and also the hawt chick in the logo. I've got that stuff on my hard drive so that's cool.

Just an Idea - From my own experience setting up a run of T shirt prints cost time and money. You have to find a quantity and a price at which you will at least break even. So if we have a competition, the entrants should post their design and their price. Then we can vote for our favourite design by placing a provisional order. At the end of the day when the contestant(s) reach their break-even number of shirts they can start production and fulfil the orders. Successful producers could even make a winfall profit by printing extra stock to sell to noobs or reorders. Wouldn't that be sweet.?

The merch thing is gonna be run in-house as an e-commerce store or similar. Whoever wins the competition gets their name and/or link on the shirts. I think it would be asking too much for each contestant to actually have to go out and find the shirts, printers, couriers and handle all the invoicing, receipts, etc.

Hey Norrie what I hate about competitions and this whole rainbow democracy thing is that it takes so looooong ! Flakes got a design going there his done his homework he deserves the prize besides I want my GFSA T-shirt now *sound of Rene stamping his feet having a hissy fit* I'm proud to be part of this forum and I want to show it off to the world. ?
