No. Just arrive on the night. But get there on the early side so that you can choose where you want to sit.

As honorary Meneer for the night I reserve a table, maybe two for my guests (who I pay for) and the players (if they want to join my guests and me) but other than that it's first come first served.

There is plenty of secure, off-street parking at the venue.

spankew for the info bob. as honorary newbie for the night, i shall pitch up and take in the sights and sounds. and perhaps a few rounds of brew...
                  4 days later
                  A bump.

And an assurance that this is an all weather show.
Alrighty, I've managed to wiggle out of my prior arrangements for the evening so the missus and I will be there. Looking forward to some great guitaring and getting to meet more GFSA'ers. Mity88, Domhatch, if I don't come and introduce myself to you it's not because I'm shy but because I don't know what you look like. Make yourselves known, will you? If you don't know what I look like, at least introduce yourselves to Bob. I'm sure, apart from being the host for the evening he can take on the additional role of pointing GFSA members towards each other ?
I'll try my best to be sociable but
                      1) During the show there is more work than you might think in keeping an eye on time, giving the next act a heads up and so on. Especially when there are 6 acts in a 2.5 hour show and so the sets are necessarily not long.

                      2) I'll be there early, but I have to leave at some point (don't know what time yet) to give one of the acts a lift to Marks Park.

Now, if you're coming to this show the one thing you don't want to do is speed. There are permanent camera traps on both the approach roads - Beyers Naude (to the north, between the cemetary and Northcliff Corner) and Barry Hertzog (to the south, between Judith Road and Empire road). Both of those traps operate in both directions. In addition there may well be temporary traps, especially along Beyers Naude between Melville and Melville Koppies.

                        Good one Deefstes ?

Lets see how many Gauteng based GFSA members we can get there.
The Beer is cheap, the food is reasonable, the company is good and all for just R25.00.

There is some serious Talent on the Bill:

Brendan (one of the best guitarists I have seen)
                        Keira - Needs no introduction
Mike Rowe - Alternate Tuning, Blues and an excellent player
Nechama Brodie - Excellent Singer Songwriter

and there's still No Principles and Shotgun Tori (yet to see them in action)

if you from gfsa .just wear crocs in honour of Bob's croc legacy .....and we'll find you ?
+1 to what squonk said .it's a really good bill with every artist i know on the bill is very talented in their field.......
Will be there. Looking forward to it!
well y'all. i wear black earrings with li'l teeny dragons on 'em. also, one of them power balance bracelet thingies on me left wrist. shouldn't be too hard to me make out. if all else fails, seek out the fat guy looking lost with a zamalek in his hand. and no crocs - damn things make my feet sweat something fierce.

                                see yers there
                                dh

                                  And excellent balance ?
I'm glad to hear that y'all are coming. I am trying to break the TJ's attendance record, currently held by Hugh Cumming of Hugh's Fine Guitars. I don't know what the record is, but everytime I've hosted a show for TJ's I get told that I'm just short of the record. So every little bit helps.

A spanner in the spokes is that the TJ's mailing list is out of action. The server on which that list resides has a hardware problem. So word is not getting out as timeously as usual.

If you want to spread the word in whatever way then the URL for the poster is

And you should not hesitate to tell all and sundry how totally fab it's going to be, how it's cheaper than Cold Play and how at this show the beer is bought to you rather than you having to go to it.

depends on the number of zamaleks... which, after a while, start making everything else look like daleks, and they have a nasty habit of putting me off balance. aaaawwwwk! a dalek...
we need to get some GFSA shirts done 8)
