which suspend the instrument, hanging from it's neck like the ones Herculess makes for instance (ditto those wall brackets) possibly causing damage to one's pricey asset??????
Guitar stands...
no. why ?
I had the same concerns, I must admit I don't like my guitars hanging by their necks, and got the floor multi guitar stand.
Inside OK... though if you're renting your lease may rule out any drilling of holes and if you're selling your house then they're fixtures and may not be removed (or you remove and patch before you put the house on show).
Outside.... No! No! No! No! No! (to quote Mrs Thatcher). A little breeze picks up and your guitars start banging against the wall.
The floor stands are better for me - especially that nice little fold up job that Hercules make. You can take 'em to gigs, move 'em around the house.....
When you're out the house your guitars should be in cases - best protection against accidents, vacuum cleaners and dogs (don't laugh. I've had a dog pee on the Morgan whilst it was in a case. The case was closed)

I have this question every time I lie on my bed staring at my lovely Ibanez Artist.
i still want to get me a few of these :

I use and prefer Hercules triple stands. (hanging) They're as solid as can be and offer the most stability and thus safety to my guitars. I've used many stands over the years and still have quite a number all over the place. These are the ones I feel most relaxed about when hanging R30k+ guitars on them... Highly recommended even if you only need to hang only one or two guitars.
But can you hang a tele from there???? ?StephenG wrote: i still want to get me a few of these :

(this is tongue in cheek ? )
Agree with Zark and Bob
I use the wall mounted hercules holders and theyre great, as are the tripod floor units, as are the 3 guitar stand that Zaek is refering to. Never had an issue on any neck from guitars hanging..
Was just a bit freaked out in the beginning that the weight of the guits would cause the units to loosen and fall... but no incidents in about 5 years!

Also been discussed here before: http://www.guitarforum.co.za/general-discussion/hanging-your-guitars/
I've always hung mine up on the walls with no issues. Leaves more floor space for other gear. Get good ones like the Hercules or Proel, mount 'em high, use proper long rawl plugs and never leave the guitar plugged in...
Just got me one of those Hercules 3 guitar floor stands today. Saw it, tried it, liked it, bought it- all in 10 minutes.
having a hand coming out of the wall holding the guitar is"creepy" and would freak me out in dim light ...... ? like having an acid flashback where hands appear from the wall handing you guitars....nooooooooo my mind is sensitive to such things ..... thanks to the 80'sNorman86 wrote:But can you hang a tele from there???? ?StephenG wrote: i still want to get me a few of these :

but yes i hang some guitars with the hercules stands that are spring loaded and close to stop any accidents...and yes the hercules can take a tele without it looking like it will slip through ............ i like em practical way to keep guitars outa the way in a townhouse...... and it's great wall art too ....... ?
they are an awesome bit of kit. I had one, sold it to a mate, saw how much I missed it and then proceeded to buy it back. It's nice to have when your guits are normal strats.DonRoos wrote: Just got me one of those Hercules 3 guitar floor stands today. Saw it, tried it, liked it, bought it- all in 10 minutes.
Herc made some great products.
Good move. They're super stable as you know.DonRoos wrote: Just got me one of those Hercules 3 guitar floor stands today. Saw it, tried it, liked it, bought it- all in 10 minutes.
Just remember you'll have to get a right hand to hold your guitars if they're not lefties like those in the picture ?StephenG wrote: i still want to get me a few of these :
