http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/fractal-audio-systems-announces-axe-fx-ii-441057
PRESS RELEASE: Three years of R&D at Fractal Audio Systems have yielded our next generation product, the Axe-Fx II. With twice the power of our former flagship Ultra, the Axe-Fx II unveils new state-of-the-art algorithms and an innovative array of great hardware and software features and improvements.
More to Come...

Whereas the Axe-Fx Standard and Ultra are …almost… mature in terms of their capacity for further development, the Axe-Fx II is well equipped for a future of free upgrades and updates in the tradition that established our commitment to product evolution.

Join our mailing list for announcements about the availability of the Axe-Fx II. There will be NO reserve orders! The product will retail for $2199.
And the "used" price of the current Standard & Ultra take a plunge!
That happened alot sooner than I was expecting...Still I am excited ?

        Pretty neat stuff these...

But when are they going to make a good ol vintage tube Axe Fx ? ?
        With some sweet sounding 6V6s...

Frank Zappa “Call any vegetable, and the chances are good that the vegetable will respond to you”
And should you call a great tube amp, it too will respond to you in ways that satisfy the soul like a cat head biscuit pregnant with poached egg and andouille gravy. “Unt some?” Of Course we do. You see a 6V6 power tube harbours a sound unto itself, and two of them render twice the sweet and nasty. Less spritzy than EL84s but more compressed than 6L6s, the mighty mighty 6V6 can be compared to a luscious natural blonde from the Midwest – A down to earth girl who will plow down a box of Crispy Cremes with you and not act as if she’s ever done it before, opposed to a rail thin beauty from Connecticut who sounds whiney even when she’s laughing (EL84), or a big boned, salt box of a girl from Texas who belly-laughs at your jokes even when she knows she has got barbeque all up in her teeth (6L6).
We create images of feminine charm here because the very genesis of a tube amp demand it...
        Adapted from a Tonequest article

Until that day where I can write something so descriptive about a truly inspiring 'Processor' I will keep feeling my music though my hands and heart ?

+1 Brent.. I'm sure it sounds great.. But after getting a little 5 watt tube amp, not sure I could do anything that was digital! ?
Sigh...Must you people always come and ruin our fun >☹

            ?
ok so now we just need to wait for 2nd hand Axe FX 1 to hit gumtree for R5000 ?

why not try it first before saying its crap??? :-\

Norman Norman, pay attention... No where did I say it's 'crap'. And I have heard and seen many of the Axe Fx... As I said they are neat and sound wonderful, but there is something missing if I play with one, call me old school...

The first one was magic, the Axe fx 2 is going to be epic! But there will always be those that like to keep it simple with the warmth and glowing orange light from a tube amp...

+ the 30 stomp boxes in front of the orange light.. ?
Is anyone here going to distribute it or do we have to order from Fractal?
Can I hear the argument again for why the original won't ever devalue? ?

There is this one, last piece of the puzzle that I cant seem to make my mind up on.
