Especially if you are so used big sound clubs, with a big PA and sound reinforcement. Then you play amuse and you rely on the brute force of your amplifier to get the sound across and it sounds so good. This type of venue is also cool because 20 people fills the place up. We started our first song with literally 6 people in the place (including bar tender and staff) and by the time we hit the last chord of that song the place was filled. Very Amusing and so laid back, love it! Kudos to amuse.

Cool little place. Played there a couple of times and will be there again on Saturday. I like Dirck's s simple setup in general, although the one thing I don't like about it is relying on one teeny monitor for the whole band. I play my little 15 watt amp with a 10" speaker, unmic'ed and still sometimes hear too much guitar. Maybe should think about placing my amp differently...
We set a bass amp with a small mixer next to the drummer, then we line the amps and line the vocals from the one monitor to the mixer. The drummer can do his own mix and can hear what's going on in front of him. But yea, a few extra monitors wont do any damage. We also put that one monitor so it plays across the band. But it's part of the charm to make it work.

We brought an extra powered monitor for Stu once but the signal from the other one was too hot and it clipped the hell out of it. At least we've managed fine with just the one so far. Two would be nice though ?

      What's changing?

Peter, the organist/vocalist is leaving us. Going to miss that Hammond sound. He also plays lead and rhythm guitar, the white Start with black pick guard in the pics. Anyone wants to join us ?

Here are three of us from the Jumpaboda Band playing at our Keg and Cockroach on a Sunday afternoon. Our keyboard player and rhythm guitarist had the day off. Very basic set up. 43ºC ambient temp. We drank a lot of beer.

First time for the Takamine 12 string...
Two hours and my fingertips are feeling it. ☹
Good Stuff DaFiz. Always something special about a Takamine.

12 strings sound like they have built in chorus pedals!

Trust me to fit a fatter guage to try and get some bigger bottom end...
                My fingers are chewed :'(
Nuttin' beats the sound of a twelve string ?
Hats off DaFiz. If I play two songs the eagle claw sprain sets in :?

We played a charity do on a farm about 400kms away from home over the weekend. We arrived, set up and before we had even finished, without any break, had to start playing in order to keep most of the crowd from going home after a fun day. The first set was over three hours. I was having co-ordination problems towards the end of it! Food, food!! The second set was a shorter hour and a half and that was that. Not our best performance but great fun! EDIT: Not even enough time to get changed.

This was one of the first gigs i ever played with one of my favourite guitars.

Pics from a few other Arockalypse gigs here in East London, including a Halloween gig. Can't remember Roahn's forum tag otherwise I'd type it in. :-[

Hi! 5 of us girls got together as Sistas of Metal for an intro gig at Emalyth 2 weeks back. Was great! First time for me on stage with another guitarist.

Very cool idea Hammeron. Pic suggests you shouldn't have done it on full moon though. Looks like you're turning into a werewolf ?
