Hey everyone,

I don't know who else from the forum was there last night but i was at the Feeder Concert and it was freakin awesome!!!!!!

A band called Shadow Club open for them and let me tell you that they blew my mind as well. Feeder was very cool, there was no talking kak between the songs, all they did was get up and play. Of course they had a great presence on stage and even if you were not aware of their music, you would have enjoyed the show!

I watched them on Saturday night at the Synergy Festival in Franshoek. Very cool. Didn't know any of their songs but still had a jam. Great live show. The guitarist has a nice jazzm of which mika would probably approve ? Bassist played some interesting guitars as well.
I was there last night - got a drumstick and the bassists ESP pick to prove it! And a headache and a croaky voice...

Feeder are up there with my top bands of all time, so yeah, I loved it - will post some picks later. Even got to touch the Jazzmaster, a 1964 Silver Jazzmaster if wikipedia is correct, that Grant came and placed on the stage in front of us before the encore.

And Dirk, I was also seriously impressed with Shadow Club - just glad that the bloody Parlotones weren't the support band again! ? But seriously, a very tight 3-piece - bluesy rock - dont know if you have heard of a band from the US, the Cold War Kids, but the singers voice and delivery reminded me a lot of them.
My buddy and i were saying the same thing about the Parlotones dude!

I haven't heard of The Cold War Kids but correct me if i am wrong, the lead singer, wasn't he the lead singer of Airship Orange?

Dude, i loved the Rickenbacker Bass that the bassist had! I got a photo of Grant's pedal baord as well, just want to clean the image up and then i will post it
Okay, managed to download some of the photos. Here's Grant Nicholas with the 1964 Silver Fender Jazzmaster

Taka with his ESP bass – he apparently worked for ESP for a bit in Japan

The ‘Rickenbacker’ I didn’t actually see the headstock clearly, but its got that kind of design

          Taka’s pedalboard

The Jazzmaster that got placed in front of us

man that's cool..............I've only heard good things about them.....great stage show I'm told.

            moar pics!!!!!!!!!!1
Okay... I am not a stalker... :-[ But I got to meet the band on Monday. They tweeted that they were headed back to the UK, so seeing as I had to go past the airport anyways to do some work, I thought that I may as well pop in and try my luck - I mean, this is a band who have soundtracked the last decade or so for me, so I would have kicked myself if I didnt even try. So anyways, I wasn't expecting to see them, but after checking all the bars (they are a rock band...) I went past the check in counters, and there they were. I must have chatted to them for 10/15 minutes about SA, music in general, guitars, etc and I eventually said that they better go cos the rest of the crew were waiting for them. Fantastic guys and I am so glad that I followed my gut and went past.

Me and a mate of mine had a band called Shadow Orchids, like YONKS ago - early 90s - so I guess I should go and check these guys out. In homage, like. What kind of music do they play?

Sounds bad doesn't it? :-[ But hey, I was driving past the airport on my way to work, knew that they were leaving and thought it would be great to chat to a band I had listened to for over a decade. And I couldn't quite use the 'wat a suprise' bit... I was wearing a Feeder shirt. ?
