Please talk me through how you do something like this... its amazing! I am truly in awe whilst listening to this.
    Thanks guys

Unfortunately i can't take credit, apart from the distorted guitars and the cleans.
We recorded at Face-Studios in Durbz.

The guy who put it together is really an amazing engineer (Greg Bedford).

    Thanks again

Great stuff! Kudos. Song is good, sounds are mostly on the money. Excellent separation between instruments.

I really like the beginning (although I'd be hard pressed not to EQ the delayed guitar a bit further - to more of a "small radio" tone and then apply some panning/rotary effects - personal preference). I also like the tightly played acoustic rhythm guitar tones and - in fact I might make them more of a feature by bumping them a dB or two.

The mix needs a little tweaking IMO. Focus should be a little more on the voice for this kind of song.

Possibly soften the kick drum attack a bit, level down a couple of dB and fatten it up a little - all to make it bigger, smoother and softer, less of a "kick in the chest" (is the mic a Shure Beta 52?). However that's more a production choice than something wrong (I'm thinking radio friendly rock).

Overall the mix is a little dry for me - I'd want some of the instruments to mask together a bit more. The double-tracked distorted rhythm should be a little quieter and wetter. Also the voice is a bit too soft in the louder sections as is the solo guitar (this might be largely cured when you bring the distorted guitar down a little).
        Hey Alan

Thanks for all of your comments, exactly what i was looking for.

The solo took a while to get used to, but i'm really digging it right now.

        Thanks again
        :woohoo:
          Hey

          This is good stuff.

Composition, vocals, arrangement, guitar riffs, solo all brilliant.

I will leave the technical stuff to Alan ?

killer. got to agree with most of what alan has to say, although i find the vocals lost a little when there's a bunch of instrumentation. could be fixed maybe with creating an eq hole mebbe? don't go jumping into studio right now though, it could very well be these cruddy imac speakers!

            great tune, well put together.
              Nicely done.

Not had a chance to listen critically but first impression is :yup: :yup:
That's a great song! I also really like the rhythm guitar against the delayed guitar in the beginning. Vocals are great and the solo fits the song perfectly. Nice work!
Hey thanks for all the compliments guys, really appreciate it.

Next couple of weeks we will put out another one. I'll start a new thread for it.

                  Thanks Again
