Hi everyone!!

As with most forums on the web I browse them for a while before I decide to register. Seen some pretty cool stuff on here.

I study Bcom Informatics, I stay in Lynnwood, Pretoria east. I have been playing guitar for a few years now, but unfortunately lost a bit of interest at a stage, but I'm glad to say, I'm back and more passionate about it than ever before!!!!

I own the following:
Hohner ST Special ( just another strat copy - havent played it for a good 5 years, I'm not really an electric kinda guy ).
Crafter MD32/N acoustic
Ibanez F-302 Bk ( An epic 12 string from the floral series, made in 1981 - was locked away for many years, forgotten... Luckily I recently gave it a new home )

My dad owns a Ibanez M312 ( Spruce top , flame maple back and sides, bought new in 1982 )

I had an Ibanez SZ520, but I sort of lost interest in the electric stage, so I let that one go. Next on the list is a nice blond 6 string, they just hard to find... :-\

If anyone in and around Pta wana jam, let me know!! We often braai at someone's house and take guitars with and jam the night away...

Regards
Michael

yay great to have more acoustic players in Pretoria

              Welcome!
When I started varsity Informatics hadn't been invented yet, electronic calculators as well. Electric guitars were well established though.

                    Hmmmmm GAS.

I actually managed to find a M310 ( 6 string version of the M312 ) but the guy wanted too much, as much as it hurt, I just walked away from that deal.

Klaus is just a nickname, cant remember why I was dubbed Klaus, I think it was just the first name my buddies could think of.

                              Very welcome to our community!

We should have another great day here in De Wildt in about July I think. There we can all share our styles and music with everything set up for sound, you just plug in !!

Just love your guitars, so beautiful. Would love to hear them do their thing!

                                Hey Michael

The braai thing sounds just great!
We do the same here in De Wildt, close to Harties, about once a week too!
I would love to come and hook up with you and jam.

I love to sing and have my own songs. I play mostly rhythm guitar but Steve (my music partner) plays the Bass but can jam a good rhythm guitar anytime with his thing around his neck for his Harmonicas!!!! We love playing, so just let us know so that we can come and see you and meet you!

                                Great stuff 8)

Johnny Cash used to host what he called a "guitar pull" at his house. The idea was that his friends would come around, sit in a circle, pick up a guitar and play a song.

The difference between this and most similar affairs is that his friends would include Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Kris Kirstofferson etc etc.

Elvis Costello replicated the guitar pull for one episode of his "Spectacle" series. He updated it a bit too, Kristofferson was there and so was Roseanne Cash, but he had Norah Jones and John Mellencamp along too.

Kristofferson said that it got a bit daunting sometimes because people would often bring a new song to the guitar pull. So you're feeling pretty good about everything and then, say, Dylan picks up a guitar and plays a song you've never heard before and it just blows everybody's hair back and then it's your turn next.
