Recently I receive a copy of Tenacious D's album The Pick of Destiny, band members are Jack Black & Kyle Gass, who is the real talent behind the band.

Now there is nothing that puts a smile on my face on my way to work than than a bit of Kickapoo (nice acoustic bits do) , Dio or Beelzeboss if you like a bit of the dark side. I agree some of the lyrics are crap but these guys lay it on the line ........no regrets.....you've got to love them.

Pick of destiny is from the movie "Pick of destiny".Some of the tracks lyrics might sound out of place because of this. The song kickapoo features Meatloaf and Ronni James of Dio.

As for the playing,it is actually Jack and kyle as far as I know.
Go and watch the special features on the DVD, there is a guy with an SG that helps them out alot in the studio.
Most of it is Kyle gass playing, he's been playing for quite some time now.
I quite enjoy Tenacious D... Tribute is a favourite.

In Pick of Destiny the role of the Devil is played by none other than Dave Grohl of Nirvana / Foo Fighters fame.
          Cool band,

Vey much in the 'humour in music' / satirical rock idiom we were discussing the other day.

Although most people became aware of them via the recent movie, they've been a cult band a long time. TV series in the USA since 1997 and released first album in 2001. Dave Grohl played drums on it.

The SG-guy who plays with them on the album and in the movie of Pick of Destiny is called John Konesky.

good I happy that its not just Jack, Kyle and me who like their stuff. Aparently thier international tour went down quite well

PS: has anyone tried mastering Kickapoo ?
I like 'em too. They are silly and bombastic... which is exactly the way they like it ?
GMAFB, we all love Jack Black who is a pathological potty mouth with Tourette's syndrome but we still use little asterisks whenever we want to write sh*t or even d*mn. Flubbing retards ?
I get quite a few kicks out of their music and I think Jack is a good actor when he's not writing his own movies. Pick of destiny the movie was nothing spectacular. School of rock was better IMO.

I agree. Absoulte surreal experience the other day. Wife rented movie called "The Holiday". Romantic comedy with Jack playing a straight romantic part. Sounds odd, but he pulled it off by injecting a little bit of his left-field persona into the character. Must see for Jack fans.
I'll make a note of that Riaan C, surprised I haven't seen or heard anything about this film.

                      Thanks man ?
