Never was much of a Credence Clearwater fan but about 10 years ago I bought "Blue Moon Swamp". Very country-ish and I'm not a country sort of person, but I really enjoy the arrangement on this album. Anyone else have time for this guy?
I like CCR. John Fogerty brought out a live DVD in 2005/6 (with a different band). It is pretty cool. He did all the classics. Not very familiar with that album though
I dig John Foggerty. I believe the DVD / Album you are referring to is called Premonition.

        Swamp Rock!

I like his simple approach to guitar playing, singing and songwriting.
I'm sure John Cougar Mellencamp got influenced by John.

One of the first songs I attempted was Proud Mary or was it Bad Moon Rising ?
Its actually called "The long road Home". Very cool stuff. Haven't seen it in stores..

They do "Old man down the road" on this DVD. Really awesome

He's one of those players who doesn't have lots of chops or great chops - but the chops he has he does really well. A good songwriter as well.

I hope that doesn't sound too rude or condescending (especially from me - in a guitar playing battle Fogerty would eat me up and spit me out before breakfast). I was thinking of something that Leonard Cohen said recently, along the lines of "I don't have chops, I have one chop, but it's a good chop and nobody else has it."
