  • Cool tutorial on playing drums on a keyboard

Hey guys
With more and more of us messing about with home recording, the one thing i always struggled with was drums for my tracks. I have since learnt how to use drum vst's.. but those are somewhat limited in the way of time signatures, grooves etc.

Found what I think is a great tutorial on how to drum with a keyboard. Check it out if it interests you. This was definitely one of the better videos and i learnt stuff about keyboard drumming i never thought of before.

Enjoy

Cue laughter 😆...I'm going to avoid the crude jokes!

Though I think the full benefit would be with a velocity sensitivee keyboard? And knowing how to get human-esque quantizing in your DAW? Those are two issues I think most will run into with this. But it's probably easier than learning how to use a electronic kit - i getting hands and feet to work together seems to challenge many - though I think on keys it's less intuitive than sitting on a kit.

Having said that, my drumming mate, finger drums all the time - on his steering wheel. Not quite asawesomem as this, but it beats steaming in traffic

I had forgotten about that advert. VW did good on that one.. real good

V8 So it's not about velocity sensitivity, as such. it's about a keyboard that allows for repetitive strain finger injuries... 😆
