studmissile Is it just me and my soundcloud settings or is the audio a little on the low side

Also thought it was a bit low volume - but also I thought that might be the intent 😅

@guidothepimmp aim at -6db overall and then compare to the upload to check? Also, you get the early bird prize!

Well spotted, the master volume was reduced. What happened was, after doing the mastering and adding compression, the volume on my DAW was too loud for my headphones, so I lowered it to hear it through, and then forgot to bump it up again before exporting the audio. Thanks again for the heads up. I totally missed it.

Herewith the track with the correct volume setting.

domhatch it does have a bit of Foley in there eh.. I will take that. It was the 80s afterall. The idea was to break away (or try anyways) from a guitar heavy track. Thus the synth. And once i got into the synth i naturally gravitated to an 80s vibe. As does most of my stuff. Seem to be stuck there sonically

Deadline extended from 3rd January to 10th January!

Get em fingers rocking!

Collaboration with @Meticus . Finished an idea I had back when he posted this:

https://community.guitartalk.co.za/d/27448-german-bagpipe-meets-guitar

and he kindly let me use and abuse here. All the pipes were re-recorded for this because of the big tempo change. Real pleasure to work with you @Meticus ! I enjoyed making this one very much.

So without further ado, here is a rain dance for a metal tribe, the lead guitar plays the part of the shaman and the bagpipes play the part of the tribe.

A little progression that this challenge inspired - it's fairly simple (C, A#, G. G, F, D). But all on the treble strings on the pimpocaster which gives it a kinda uke sounding vibe when playing with fingers. Got two delays (ala Shadows, one short-ish, the other long). some space-y reverb and using the 'freeze' function on the Roland GR-S pedal for glitches and holding notes (From around 50s onwards). All live, recorded with cell phone.

@V8 Your entry reminds me of the Diablo 1 Tristram village music vibe 😀 Old memories awaken xD

Bwhaha - it does, especially when I switch off the delay's and tame the overused glitches.

I recall...Only 1 million clicks to finish the game! 😆
