The LockDown Challenge - shout out for backing tracks!
All righty - to kick it off...here's my first backing track submission.
BPM: 110
Length: 24 Bars
Key: E minor (I think!) .
4 Bars of drumless pre-chorus, 16 Bars (drums, bass, guitars) of chorus, 4 bars of funky sh1t (it wouldn't be me any other way).
The (pre) & chorus is - E5, G#/A, A5, G5, F#/G.
Or if I try and explain it in words (becasue my theory knowledge is kak!)
E5= E powerchord,
G#/A = G power chord with the root down a fret (4th fret low e string),
A5 = A powerchord (you move your index finger up a fret from previous chord)
G5 = G powerchord
F#/G = G powerchord with your index finger dropping the root down a fret.
This is the section of my original track where I reaallly wanted to put a solo in - but didn't have the time or courage to ask anyone to to help me out.
Here's my rough and ready backing track contribution. Amin, 120bpm. Chord progression as follows:
Am E7 F C E7
Am E7 F C G
Am E7 F C E7
Am E7 F G
Am G F C E7
Am G F G
Thats groovy.. i dig it
Yeti thats also groovy... cool stuff.
So i wasnt really understanding the ask.. i get it now though.. will see if I can throw something together this weekend
guidothepimmp So i wasnt really understanding the ask.. i get it now though..
All I wanted to do was get something in before @Yeti Beenb meaning to get back to this tune sometime...I kinda have a master plan, we'll see if the bait works or not.
Dig to hear something from ya!
really interesting initiative guys am going to definitely see about getting stuck in.
Heres a jangly loop i threw together quickly.
Its a run of the mill rock groove at 100bpm in the key of A.
Quite simple,
A, G, D - verse
A, C, D - Chorus
A, G, F# something or other for the weird break
... I think.
Basically a Tele into a Vox AC
Thats awesome @guidothepimmp, you always have such fantastic tone. My 2c, I think it's a little long for this challenge. Might be worth cutting it a little to get closer to 1:00?

That real cool - as @Yeti said, could you grab the 1min you'd feel you'd want to have the leads & solo's to fit?
Keeping shorter will keep peeps focused on tighter leads/solo's (that's the thinking anyways) - I know I got about (at most!) 10s of original ideas and then I'll repeat ad-nauseating
Ohhhh... ok.. now i get it. I didnt realise it was just the loop part for the solo bit... righto.. lemme shorten it
Right, so i cannot fathom how to edit the post, apologies for the double post. Here is the shortened loop;
Basically as above, has a verse (A, G, D), a chorus (A, C, D), and then the break in key of A as well , presumably where the whiddly bits would go

Awesome entries, will work on mine today

Apologies my dudes, I did forget to ask everyone to make their loop/backing track downloadable...opppsss!
It's prettyyy dang simple to do - go to your track on SC, underneath the track you'll see a button "Edit'. When ya click on that that you'll get to your track's "Basic Info". Click on the permissions tab and you'll see the screenshot below - we want to enable "Direct Downloads" - Yip where that red arrow is ppinting. Enable that and save. Then we can d/l the track to use (and abuse!)
Thanks guys!
Right-o, another plea for backing tracks - we've only two fresh ones (thanks @Stoffeltoo) including this mish mash of mine...
BPM:130
Key: A
Bars: 37 (1 bar drum intro, 12 bars relaxed blues, 2x12 bars of more rocking blues.
).
It's a edit of something I did a very long time ago (2014?) for the "Action Challenge" - I was aiming for a mix of house muzak and blues. Errmmm...yeah, well - it seemed like a good idea a the time...
Heres a quick and dirty boogie woogie at 180BMP in Am... perfect for you vintage shredders
We've totally be inundated by backing tracks...so here's one a bit different. The reggae section from Alinea's "Brass Knuckles"
BPM: +/- 88 (Not 100% sure, I don't have the reaper project)
Key : E minor-ish?
It's four chords all the way through. E, C, F#, B - If it sounds a bit odd, well we was detuned (the final chord, B - is a low B on BEAD tuned bass).
