klaasvakie I think what makes me lose interest is just the very long dissonant runs with not much repeating melody to anchor the sucker.
Ja neee, way too weird for my tastes as well ?

Number 81 is out:
Not very much variation in this solo, but I liked the fact that it wasn't overly shreddy. Enjoyed the runs at 45s and 2:35s
Some ACDC at No 80:
Nice having something on the list that I can imagine myself being able to play ?
I wonder if there's a list of these solos in order from easiest to hardest? That would be useful for slowly attacking all these solos.
I'm sure this process is a helluva education in writing solos. There's something about learning a solo (or any part of a song) that opens your mind. Particularly if you choose artists or styles that you've never tried playing before.
Metal, for example: I've never bothered with trying to learn anything there but I listen to a lot of it. Learning some rhythm of that Megadeth tune really was interesting. Totally different to anything I might choose to try and play.
Anyway, still a great thread ? Love peeking in here from time to time, especially for the songs/solos I recognise and love. Great to read his input and also add our own ?
Second honorable mention is up:
Gary Moore, looks hard:
No 79. is up with some EVH. So it's not just Gilmore doing those 2.5 step bends!
No 78 is up with some Grateful Dead. He is right, not much of a solo, but there are some nice pentatoninc licks in there:
No 77 with Alice In Chains. I didn't know this song before, but I quite like it. The solo is good, but not sure if it is Top 100 material in my book.
klaasvakie This guy is good, nailed that one - wah tone was great!
Aaaannd those bends were all spot on... ?
V8 Yeah, the bends were top notch. Especially the "pre-bends", for me those are the toughest since you can't use your ear to guide you, they have to be spot-on the moment you pick the string. Normal pick-then-bends are much easier (for me at least).

+a lot!
I can get to a one step bend fairly accurately (not 2 or more though)...but, I struggle with the timing of bending without playing the note, it always seems VERY weird to me!
No 76. Neil Young with Cinnamon Girl. No Comment
No 75. with The Who. I love The Who so much, and I love this song, but this is not a complicated solo. I love the lick at 00:45.
No. 74 With Deep Purple - Man this looks hard.
klaasvakie Enjoyed that, quite bluesy, with a dash of prog? Those bends had me grimacing in sympathy for his fingers, he did nail them - but it must of hurt eventually.
I dig the way he writes the background for the player/song - adds to it to have a bit of a backstory.
V8 Yeah, those 3rd fret bends look owchie
No 73. with Phish - this one has a nice vibe to it, didn't know the song at all
So apparently he learned the wrong Phish solo for No 73, here is 73 again with the correct solo:
Quick, let me sneak this in before everyone dissapears for the weekend ?. No 72 with Aerosmith, these songs are damn catchy.
klaasvakie One of my all time favourites!
Sacrilege...but I dig the Run DMC version, video is rather funny - solo's are a slightly different though. Impossible to beat the original played live - rawkin'!!! ?
