I spotted this little beauty over the weekend. I thought I'd celebrate with a poor collage.
Taylor GS mini, MIM, circa. 2015
NGD - My little Taylor
Very nice! Congrats man. Would love a sound clip!
Great stuff man! I too, have been GAS'ing like a mofo the past few weeks. And what a satisfying feeling when you've brought that baby home!?
BTW GT'ers, I am in the market for a ES335 style copy.
Jazzman105 I have a Cort Source sunburst available.
Thanks StephenG.
Apologies for the hi-jack daveo1977. I'm gonna start a new topic under classifieds. StephenG can we take the conversation further there?
Jazzman105 email me on stepgohl at g mail com or look for my number in the whatsapp group
Jazzman105 Yeah, I know, right? My dearest wife; she already knows the foregone conclusion when I say "There's this guitar that I'd like to check out..."
Nice one Dave - does it live up to the Taylor name?
Jazzman105 I too, have been GAS'ing like a mofo the past few weeks
Me too! Wonder if it's something in the water ?
daveo1977 Ahhh Ya! We've become so transparent... I feel like a laaitie when I raise the topic.
V8 Heheheee... must be ?
V8 First time I'm playing a Taylor, V8. What struck me immediately is how it projects. It's a 3/4 scale guitar (as far as I can tell) with a big voice. The new strings on it adds a satisfying brightness. It feels like a solid build, and sits comfortably when you cradle it. The neck is not lacquered, which is a first for me. It's nice and light, and my guitar teacher gave it a thumbs up at our lesson last night. ?
Great guitars. Enjoy.
congrats on the new purchase. would also love a sound clip ?
Hello! So it's taken more than a month, but here it is:
My friend Craig played, and I manned the cell phone. I learnt that Aubade (DAW available for Android phones) will record you a stereo track, but there's a phase issue. Easy Voice Recorder Pro (also available on Play Store) will record in mono, unless you fiddle with the settings. Neither could capture the dynamics of the acoustic guitar effectively. You'll hear compression artefacts, and overall it sounds like a tin can. It was a fun exercise though. Listen to a proper recording of the Taylor GS mini here:
