Can we have synths and strings playing along with the guitars, or must it all be guitars?

EPIC THEME!
Yee-hah, grand topic - I'm liking this one.
V8 already has a 1 min theme tune. He just can't remember where he put it :-[

This should be fun.
Next challenge: Write a tribute for those great songs we wrote and lost along the way. ?V8 wrote: Yee-hah, grand topic - I'm liking this one.

Just wanna know its own composition not a cover/remake of a superhero theme right?
Or could you do both mixed in one?

The way I read it, you must create a theme song!Adrian Rogowski wrote: Pick a superhero - any superhero, and make a theme song dedicated to them that would make their enemies tremble upon hearing it.
Normal comp rules apply, except that entries must be around the 1min mark
Last week and I've still got jack.
Start with a structure and then improv over it? See what you get on short notice? :-[
Same here.TokyoP0P wrote: Last week and I've still got jack.
Yes - preferably your own, but you are allowed to be inspired by existing themes if you decide.Squonk wrote:The way I read it, you must create a theme song!Adrian Rogowski wrote: Pick a superhero - any superhero, and make a theme song dedicated to them that would make their enemies tremble upon hearing it.

I've seen what you can do in just a week. No excuses haha 8)TokyoP0P wrote: Last week and I've still got jack.
Just a thought - regardless of number of entries, I'd like there to be a beginner's group - even if only one person is in it.
Genre wise , there's no restrictions - From John Williams/Hans Zimmer for the epic movietrack feel to anything off the crow soundtrack (great album!) to whatever you could imagine...
Imho - it doesn't have to be a actual comic (super)hero or villan. That's just the easiest for the listener to relate to?Hasie wrote:Same here.TokyoP0P wrote: Last week and I've still got jack.

I have an idea for a super hero.... and his/her theme. Now... just to pull my finger and do something about it. lol.V8 wrote: Just a thought - regardless of number of entries, I'd like there to be a beginner's group - even if only one person is in it.

I may have something. I just got back from Guitar Centre where I traded in my Tele and a Tanglewood for a bass guitar and after jammin' on it for a bit I reckon I've got a melody with some hero potential.
To the lab!!

Just a handful of sleeps till "deadline" and howzit going peeps?
I reckon I've got a version I can live with, a few more tweaks and we're there...

Nothing is coming. Hopefully I can think of something by Saturday.V8 wrote: Just a handful of sleeps till "deadline" and howzit going peeps?

I managed to finish up something last night that I'm mostly happy with.
While noodling around on the acoustic during last night's loadshitting, I managed to think of a riff that can be used. I recorded it on my phone, just for a reference and will hopefully start recording tonight. ?
Maybe I should play that riff through Shazam, just to ensure it is not some form of subconscious plagiarism.
