So what albums take you back to your earlier years and give you goosebumps, either due to how much you love the music or because of the memories that come flooding back?

Don't be embarrassed, let's hear them. I spent the first 10 years of my life in the 90s, so most of my nostalgia comes from the early 2000s when I was transitioning from primary to high school. Mine are (in no particular order):

1. Blink 182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001)
2. System of a Down - Toxicity (2001)
3. P.O.D - Satellite (2001)
4. Seether - Disclaimer II (2002)
5. My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004)

Whenever I hear these, I immediately think of times gone past:

                      Green Day - Dookie
First CD my brother bought on this new fangled "compact disc" technology. 1994, I was still in Primary school and it was the first time we got a hifi with a CD player. Still probably my favourite album of all time.

                      Led Zeppelin - I
First time I heard Led Zeppelin, from an album my dad bought in the US. Also 1994 I believe, maybe slightly after.

Blameless - The Signs Are All There
                      My first CD.

Queen - Greatest Hits I and II collection
First album my parents bought me.

                      Johannes Kerkorrel - Eet Kreef
It was on a tape we used to listen to it whenever we go down to the coast from Pretoria.

I was a bit of a Glamrock fan, so bought lot's of Slade and T.Rex singles in the early part of the 70's

The first 3 albums I bought. I wouldn't say these gave me goosebumps, but they do kind of remind me of my life in the mid 70's

                                  Kansas - Leftoverture

timeless stuff, brings back great memories.

but then again, there's a bunch of others, like Santana's Marathon album and Toto's Hydra, and of course there will be Zeppelin & Queen and .................
So Squonk and I both have guitar forum nicks influenced by early nostalgia albums ...
