I cant remember if this has been suggested before...

Could there possibly be a script added to make sure people arent posting in topics older than a year?
Something that asks, "are you REALLY sure you want to post in this topic as it hasnt been commented on for a year?"

Just wondering!
Thanks!
I think there is already a warning like that, but I just ignore it and chant the necromancer's incantation of thread revival and continue unabated. ?
I just searched for a particularly infamous thread from a while back. I tried to post a new reply and got this warning.
Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 60 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.

Yeah, there is exactly that, but it's only a suggestion. Not a biggie if someone does necropost though.
Reviving old threads is cool ?

it reminds us how much our tastes and opinions have changed
Yeh.. i bumped a year old thread.. purely because id rather have one thread talking to the same thing rather than duplicating..

Yeah, I'm also totally fine with old threads being revived for much the same reason as guido said
And there's actually a whole heap of knowledge that often gets forgotten because the threads are buried 6 feet under all the new ones. It's better for new members instead of them creating new threads all the time asking the same old questions

                  Preach it!
I would rather gouge my eyes out than revive an old thread

                      Hmmm... I get your point........

Just looked at that thread again... it has been resurrected a few times since Nov '09... But some things are better left to rest

It is however one of the most viewed (and replied to) threads on the forum it seems
I'm all for it, however, I do recall some threads that should be made un-reviveable. Agreed. ?
Definitely into reviving old threads! Especially for informative ones.
Its better to do a search for a topic then ask a new question which has been answered a million times before. People will usually post the link to that thread anyway.

Suggest we leave it all alone. Do some introspection and revisit (or revive) this thread again in 2016... :woohoo:
