Before now you used to FacePalm. But now, Palm is here to Face you instead...

Yes. It will happen lol. Anyhow, I like to play. A lot. Got over my metal and hard rock phase, I like to play a bit more relaxed and mellow these days. Huge fan of virtuosos like Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Satch, Jeff Beck, of course Jimi and all the rest. Pretty big Pink Floyd fan too. The list goes on and on really.

I keep my rig minimal. I call it 'The Zen Approach'. I have a single Highway One Stratocaster, a 20w Laney Lionheart head, a Big Muff, tri-ac, and a Tech 21 delay. I rely on my hands for the rest. I might invest in a Billy Corgan bridge pup quite soon though. No need for a whole new guitar, just a teeeeny little mod lol.

A fair amount of non guitar toys laying about, pair of Adam a7x monitors, i7 PC with RME 96/32 HDSP etc.

Was a cool surprise finding this forum, looking forward to getting to know you all and having some fun. As the movie title says, it might get loud ?
Welcome! I'm a fan of the simple set up too! (too lazy to carry the stuff really) ?
welcome and, as they say, enjoy your stay. i am a fan of the simple rig too - but only because funds are either thin on the ground, or rather gassed into a guitar. i'm a little predictable that way.

I am a fan of simple too. I simply don't have enough guitars!

LOL, never again will I lug a full stack around no Sir! For me it was more a case of 'moving forwards by going backwards' though. I had a lot of technology laying around but it was all getting in the way of the REAL pursuit which is creativity. And helping mask the fact that I need to work more on technique than programming pedals and amps and matching pups to overdrives etc. So I flogged all the Boss gear, the Marshalls, the Hot Rod, the PRS and LP, the acoustics, everything but the Strat and the Lionheart. My favourite setup is still just the strat straight into that little 20 watt amp and cranking the dials to 12. Raw and wonderful. If it sounds good, it is because I am playing well, if it sounds crap, it is because that is generally the sound of cheap single coils into overdriven valves.

As Jack White says, you have to pick a fight with it. Pick a fight with it and WIN that fight ?
