I'm going to the JHB show. My sister got me a ticket as a late birthday present. ?
Apparently Golden Circle is already sold out and so are a couple of the seated areas.

SO AMPED!!! Golden Circle JHB tickets secured ? and Vusi Mahlasela is opening! I've been waiting my whole life to see them, its just a pity Leroi Moore is no longer around to make up the original lineup.

This year is just going great, Rodriguez in Feb, Bits of: Slash, Guns & Roses, Velvet Revolver, Def Leppard, Collective Soul & Deep Purple this Saturday, Dave Matthews Band in November. Cannot complain about the international acts coming this way. tsk tsk. Need to start a concert fund. Will probably have to skip Def Tones at the Koppi though.
Anybody ever watch the DMB central park concert? I have probably watched it a 100 times. Super excited! Vusi Mahlasela and possibly Tim Reynolds. I don't have words...

I've lost count of the number of times I've watched the central park concert... also Listener Supported. Damn! So much of excitement!

Central Park concert is awesome, i love the songs when Warren Haynes joins in!
I order Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live at Radio City hall a couple of years ago, just the 2 of them on acoustics and on one song Dave plays piano. This is an awesome dvd and well worth getting, just make sure you get the right region disk or that you have an all regions player.
Unfortunately they announced this concert right in the "end of the month salticracks"period. So, i hope that there are still some tickets left when the economy is looking up!

Have any1 been at the CapeTown shows? How was it?
My wife won 2 tickets to Jhb, so we'll be doing the 4 hour trip to Jo'burg tomorrow!

I was at the Saturday gig, which was fantastic, but I gotta say that Sunday's had the better setlist. Bartender, Two Step, #41 and Rephunzal are some of his best tracks.
Going again tonight, so hoping we get at least Two Step or Bartender. I adore those songs.
Lethe
Best band I've ever seen live. By a mile.

Another great evening in Dave's company. Quite a lot of overlap in the setlists, but we were treated to Crash Into Me, What Would You Say (which was a highlight), Watchtower and Too Much, so definitely worth it for those. The sound quality wasn't nearly as good as CT (the Dome really does echo a lot), but the levels were slightly better as Tim was quieter in the mix and Boyd was louder (and played far better). He was less chatty in Jhb, but everyone seemed to have a touch more energy. Maybe climbing a mountain the day before was a bad idea after all.
The view was good, but a lot flatter, so one couldn't see what Carter was doing really.
And I got a cool t-shirt ?
Overall, I say CT takes is by a touch, but let's chalk that up to the company ?

Good stuff. Just for interest sake, where were you sitting in the Dome? I watched a show a while back and I was about 20 rows from the front in the middle and it was good stuff!

Was an incredible performance. As for the sound quality it varied greatly depending on where one was standing.
I found a nice sweet spot back center
Cleric
It wasn't abjectly bad sound, just not as crisp as it was in Cape Town. I was seated just off centre to the left. I'm short, and tired of staring at the backs of guys heads at most gigs, so unless it's a heavy band (Lamb of God in January baby!) I tend to buy seated these days.

It was an awesome show! Both me and my drummer (my wife) ? agreed that it was the best performance that we have seen to date! It was just an awesome night! I really enjoyed Stefan Lessard's playing, he is a great bassist!
Agree with the sound quality in the Dome! In 2005 when REM played there, it was the worst sound quality that i have heard in my life at a international act, but i must say that last night was MUCH better!
We traveled to Jhb yesterday from Nelspruit, 400km and back today, the 800km drive was totally worth it!!! Glad we didn't miss this one!
Mr-M
Loved the show. Superb. The sound...don't get me started...
