i know, was just adding to the sarcasm. i think we all know that - no matter how far you'll get using just the pentatonics, or even the blues scales - it'll never be enough. there's a vid up here somewhere by arno which does show just how much you can get done with the simplicity of the pentatonic shape, though. pretty good watch.

ps to spar - there's always more to learn when it comes to guitar. but you gotta start somewhere, so don't worry about the enormity of all the stuff you have to learn, rather concern yourself with getting the hang of the little things, one at a time, and see where they lead. justinguitar is great, and you can be quite specific with searches on both google and youtube in terms of techniques and other stuff you want to learn - go check it all out. that is, if you can't/don't want to get a teacher, or a teacher you really click with.)
