  • I've seen some cheap wedgewood's that fall in that bracket, anything is better then a sanchez
    • Good thing it's got wheels, that thing probably weighs a ton! Very cool man
      • Nice blackstar in the back there ?
        • I also own a cort Mr710 and i will always recommend it, i like the finish and the body size. Its quite loud. I bought mine a while ago when they still had a mic and a piezo pickup in. I was told they only come with piezo now.
          • The guitar i used has passive emg pups, thanx for the info guys, the feedback only goes away when i turn volume off on my guitar, not when i mute strings. The feedback i get from the guitar forum is better ? il try out what u guys said
            • Wish i could have experienced that, you are lucky ?
              • Congratulation ! That's awesome, those guitars are sweet, i love a good old guitar ?
                • Hi guys, I'm back after a busy while, merry xmas and happy festive season to everyone.

I can post a NAD but the issue I'm having should be sorted out first. I recently got a blackstar .ht 40 amp. Im really loving the tones i get from her but I've got a question for the experienced guys.

I've used it at home al the time with the only problem being the neighbours, but started jamming with my band and had the opportunity to really open her up, the band room has bad acoustics and the drums are very loud, so i put the volume high. If its on the od channel i get bad feedback which is irritating. Someone told me this is normal with a valve amp but i don't know?

If i use a distortion pedal and play through the clean channel i don't have this issue. Isn't the amp supposed to be able to handle going up all the way? Its very responsive. Hope i gave enough info, this is my first valve amp so i don't know much yet

                  Thanx in advance guys
                  • Summer of 69 seems important to have in your repertoire. I'm putting it on my list! Thanx so far guys, making a nice karaoke list Haha
                    • Just remembered smokie! No person can resist the urge to shout that famous line in living next door to Alice
                      • Haha and end it quick too
                        • Squonk reminded me of this song and you reminded me of this version now ?

Watch "Ukulele weeps by Jake Shimabukuro" on YouTube -
                          • Now you must dress like a Hawaiian and sing over the rainbow, that song is to the uke what wonderwall is to the guitar.
                            • Thanx squonk for reminding me of one of the best songs ever, while my guitar gently weeps ☹ its beautifull
                              • Those songs sound like good options, I'm talking about the person that's not musical at all.

I've noticed it alot before, you can play a Jimi Hendrix song and they're not bothered, but strum a song they know very well with only 4 chords in it and they will be praising your guitar skills forever, i don't get it, but it's important to keep the crowd happy.

This is a good list so far guys, thanx alot. I'm sure il have a choir going at the next braai with these, families make a tough crowd ?
                                • I never really learned many strum along songs because i have a terrible voice, so I've always just concentrated
                                  On actually playing the guitar.

But for the ooms and tannies at a braai playing cool licks doesn't cut it, so i was wondering,
What are some of the best songs to play at a braai for a older generation of "oom en tannie"?

Because i can't sing, it must be songs that people can't help and sing along to (especially when the wine kicks in)

I was thinking some CCR would probably be a good start
                                  • Diggin' lotsa SRV at the moment

Watch "Stevie Ray Vaughan - Lost Acoustic Blues - 1987" on YouTube -
                                    • It was cool thanx, i just became a junior member on the forum, whoo hoo!
That sure beats being a newby
                                      • Cool thanx, i need to book as soon as i can, don't wana miss it
                                        • Saw jethro butow live once, he was so good. He didn't play the usual pentatonic stuff, used modes which was something i havnt
Seen before at the time. Also can't find vids though.
I know he played on sweepslag or noot vir noot.
