New Star Wars Trilogy
Yep, the mayans predicted this hey, they even stopped making their calender when they found out.
its fortunate for them because they know us star war fans will pay to watch it even though it will suck.

Mmmm i like the idea... I am a epic star wars fan haha.. I would prefer a movies taking place in the old republic a few 1000 years before star wars episode one.. Its hard to imagine how they will properly execute a movie after the perfect ending of episode 6.. But there are many books in the expanded universe taking place before and after the movies..
Quite strange that walt disney would buy lacasfilms.. I didnt expect that to happen.

Disney star wars movies... I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
I wonder which side these movies will fit in.Pre episode 1 Or more clone wars jargon?

All I am going to say is Kyle Kataran. Hell yeah!

Arrange these words in the correct sequence to form a well known saying:
- Horse
- Flogging
- Dead
- A
Lol! He is pretty bad-ass!theantirockstar wrote: All I am going to say is Kyle Kataran. Hell yeah!

And yeah... That horse died in the 80's! The prequals were good, but that should have been the end. After the original movies they kept the franchise alive with novels and comics. Now their "keeping it alive" using silly kids series, adding things to the story-line which are inconsistent with the original story
Shheesshh, "Dark Forces" brings back good memories - great game when it was released, couldn't play it enough! I could play it again actually....time to check out gog.com again :-[theantirockstar wrote: All I am going to say is Kyle Kataran. Hell yeah!

Though if I had to vote for a script as a basis :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thrawn_trilogy. True to the originals, Chewbacca still has the best lines...
The Jedi Knight games were awesome back in the day... Some good memories :?V8 wrote:Shheesshh, "Dark Forces" brings back good memories - great game when it was released, couldn't play it enough! And as for the thrawn saga, I read the comics, its good stuff but I dont think they can make it into movies
I'm with bob on this one .......
I guess the recent economic slump has made mr lucus's portfolio dip a bit so now we get more star wars .... Which is a cash cow waiting to be milked
but star wars without the original darth vader character will be lacking...he was the ultimate villian ? Maybe like dallas luke will wake and the last 6 episodes were but a dream .......

Directed by Christopher Nolan, scripted by Joss Whedon, starring Nicholas Cage.
There is hope!

Arrrggghhh, now I HAVE to read the comics...psyx wrote: And as for the thrawn saga, I read the comics, its good stuff but I dont think they can make it into movies
Imho - The Timothy Zahn novels are the best Star Wars reading, since the orignal Stars Wars novel (written by George Lucas)...which in my geekdom, I have a 1976 copy - it's awesome ?
Pity the toys got eaten by the dog, Boba Fett never saw it coming... :-[
Probably, and maybe we'll have another Jar-Jar Binks....NoooooooooooooooooooooKeira WitherKay wrote: I guess the recent economic slump has made mr lucus's portfolio dip a bit so now we get more star wars .... Which is a cash cow waiting to be milked
But I'll cross fingers and hope, a few recent Disney movies have been good : John Carter was surprisingly watchable and Capt' Jack Sparrow - legend!
The 'original' SW trilogy was titled episodes IV, V and VI even when they were released back in the day. The prequel trilogy was I, II and III, and those set to be made now will be episodes VII, VIII and IX. Lucas conceived the story in nine episodes originally before even making the first one. Its even on record that Lucas considered an epsodes X, XI and XII trilogy as far back as 1976.psyx wrote: I wonder which side these movies will fit in.Pre episode 1 Or more clone wars jargon?

As to the Disney angle, the jury's out. I wasn't a huge fan of the FX-heavy prequel trilogy. My cousin - the most die-hard fan of Star Wars I ever met, has a saying: "Nothing beats a man in a suit", and I tend to agree.
I was doing some reading today and it *seems* like the Lucasfilm deal includes Luca's original concept (storyline) for VII, VIII and IX, how much of that would survive into the actual 2015 release remains to be seen.
Haha, classic...99.9% of the Star Wars fans would unreservedly agree. Me, I just want a lightsaber.Riaan C wrote: My cousin - the most die-hard fan of Star Wars I ever met, has a saying: "Nothing beats a man in a suit", and I tend to agree.
I was fortunate enough to watch the originals when they first came out in the 70's and 80's. \
In the wise words of Yoda.

Special effects a good movie do not make.

@flatfourfan: a resounding +1
The originals have proven impossible to beat. That said, I can't wait to go see the next trilogy... and if they bring out yet another trilogy, I'll take my stroller and go watch those episodes too! Star Wars is Star Wars...

This whole Star Wars <==> Disney thing is a total disaster. Bob is absolutely right, this horse is well and truly dead and the flogging really should stop now. We've seen how Disney can flog a dead horse into a pulp with crap like Lion King 18 "Timon and Pumba goes to the beach" or Little Mermaid 23 "Ariel's daughter's decorate their rooms". I dread to think what puerile junk Disney will come up with if they're releasing "a new Star Wars movie every two to three years".
And, for the record, you are unlikely to find a greater Star Wars fanatic than me.

Strange things is that I have never seen any of the Star Wars films. Am I the only one on earth?deefstes wrote: This whole Star Wars <==> Disney thing is a total disaster. Mmm, I wonder if this is gonna be such a good idea... ?
