Nursery Rhymes in the style of Iron Maiden.
Sorry for the delay in posting the September Challenge, I have been moving house so I have not had much computer time lately. Deefstes and ez tied and both selected topics in July. I have chosen ez's topic simply because deefstes has chosen topics before and this is ez's virgin run. Seefstes topic will be kept in reserve. So here we go with Nursery Rhymes in the style of Iron Maiden. usual rules apply except that we now consider 2 minutes the maximum length for an entry . PM all entries to me by 27th September 2012 8)

Eish. Justified choice but I suspect I'm going to struggle with this one. I failed miserably at the previous metal entry and I haven't exactly studies metal since then 8) Let's see how it goes though. Good luck to all the other participants. Looking forward to see what yous come up with.

Iron Maiden's style is less like modern metal and more like hard rock (less loud than that even). You just need some palm muted rhythms and a harmonised solo and you're golden. Don't get too bogged down by the 'metal' part. Remember, the theme is not metal, its nursery rhymes, Iron Maiden style.

I'm enjoying this challenge, not sure if I'll finish what I've started, but the idea of using a (typically) major scale melody and putting minor scale harmony(s) over it has helped me to look at some theory I never really had a practical example for and understand it a little better.

Although singing like Bruce Dickinson is a challenge way beyond me. Them's a set of vocal chords for sure :?

Yeah sorry, I had every intention to set aside my dislike for metal (and Iron Maiden specifically) and see if I could put together something but I pulled the biggest blank I've ever pulled. I just could not come up with anything that seemed in anyway suitable for this challenge.
