TJ's music club - July 5th - Come and cheer Costafonix

OK... I don't have full details of the line up yet, but I have just heard that Costafonix will be doing a set at TJ's this Thursday. I presume with his friend Claude. The two of them did a strong set at the May open mic night, and somebody must have asked Costafonix for his phone number.

So another GFSAer treading the boards. Come along and give him some support.

Usual venue: Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia
Usual time: Music starts 20:00, doors open 19:30
Usual fee: R25

Drinks and meals may be ordered from the Marks Park staff. Plenty of secure parking.

either way its going to be a great evening and I'm glad we're on first so that we can relax and enjoy the rest of the acts that evening, and get over the nerves with a couple of drinks :goodtimes:

Shucks I was so miffed that I couldn't make it last night. I was really looking forward to seeing CostaFonix in action and getting to meet NeonGecko and some other forumites. Hopefully, this will not have been the last opportunity.

Very good. Tight. Good harmonies. Effective rather than flashy playing. I particularly enjoyed their version of "Come Together".

Hey thanks to everyone that managed to come through, sorry you couldn't make it Dewald, hopefully we may crack another invite and have another opportunity to play there ?
wow some serious talent there last night and I really liked playing first so that I could enjoy watching the other acts.
Nice to meet Fingerpicker, and thanks to the sound guys(Graham and Mark?), Ken the MC for inviting us, as well as our official-unofficial photographer - Camba :yup:
I would really encourage everyone to go to the Open Mike nights on the last Thursday of every month and get yourself on the bill to play, as Bob has often said, its a friendly crowd (so no booing or banana peels thrown at you ?).
As for my playing, I used my Tanglewood again, and although I love playing that guitar, I found it a bit sticky at times, so next time I'll be trying my most recent TOMS Bargain Basement Acquisition - my blue Takamine EG523SC, needs some repair work but has a great neck,, :yup:
