Hi everyone, I've heard a lot about Tonerider pickups and a friend has a set of Rocksong pickups on his Cort. He claims that it was a major upgrade and sounded a lot nicer than the dimarzio pickups he had in the guitar before. Now I see that these pickups are going for R700.00 per set or 2 x R350.00.
Does anyone have any opinions on these pickups because the price is exceptionally good, from looking at the link given by fireaxe.

The Rocksongs are great for blues, classic rock and modern radio music. They've got the alnico 2 magnets that was used in the original Gibson PAF's, but the Rocksongs are a lot hotter!
The Generators are great for anything else, rock, classic rock, blues, heavy stuff, pop, you name it - it's my favourite set! I own 2 sets! ?
The Alnico 2 and 4 sets are more for traditionalists, blues and jazz players.

That's my 10 cents!

The Alnico 4s are amazing pickups. Very "transparent" ito letting the natural tone of the guitar shine through, not too bright and not dark either. Not loose like the A2s, not scooped like the A5s. Just great versatile pickups overall. At R700, insane value.

? It's not messed up or unfair, just business and marketing. I bought a set of Generators a few weeks ago too and paid R990.00. I've phoned Andre at Tonerider and he says that today's prices will remain for another week but won't go down any further.

Yesterday is gone, today is HERE and I'm getting a set NOW! ?

I do understand that business is business but if you advertise a sale for ten days at a specific price point and then halfway through the sale you change the sale price, i don think thats fair on the people who have already purchased at the higher price point.
I dont have a problem if today everything is at the normal price and tomorrow they advertise a sale and the prices are cheaper but during a sale to change prices is not right in my opinion.

I think that's ridiculous. He changed the price. Maybe more sold than he expected and he was able to lower the price, maybe not enough were being sold. Either way, he's at liberty to do whatever he wants.

Prices change daily. Sometimes you miss out by a day, but there is no use complaining about it. That's business... What you lose on the swings you gain on the roundabout...

I think it's there's a BIG price increase coming on new stock. I've heard someone mention it somewhere.
I reckon if you want Toneriders now is the time to get them!
R600.00 for a complete set of humbuckers is just insane!
