I came across a stunning Tele this morning whilst looking at porn (GFSA style ?)

Can somebody tell me what model and burst she is? I am absolutley loving this guitar.

Definitley putting this on my wish list.

From the gold hardware, and 60th aniv, I'd guess President Select?

Woops, seems they only made President Select strats. Seems Arnie hit the nail on the head ?
      5 days later
that looks like a heckuva lot of wood to waste to make one top, especially at that price point. i'm guessing it would have to be veneer at the least? but man, it's purdy, even though teles ain't mah thang.
Domhatch, what do you mean? LP's waste way more wood?
Methinks Domhatch must read up on 'drop top' ?
? mm that tele is way to pretty for a telecaster ...........

personally i like my tele's beat up and can't wait till my one gets more road worn .............and loses it's shine......

i think it was singemonkey who said a tele is the AK47 of guitars..........

oh i so agree they 100% reliable, virtually indistructable and sound killer in most genres ........BUT they not meant to be pretty looking ...........

I was waiting on Keira chipping in to this thread before I posted!!!!
The guitar in question is, as correctley stated, the Fender Telebration 60th Anniversary Flame Top Telecaster.
Gloss laquer finish (smells great when you open the case), Alder body with a AAA Flame Maple Top (not fotoflame, photoflame, thotoflame or any other such veneer or vefar).
Standard Fender Tele pickups so it sounds like, well, it sounds like a Tele!!!!!!!
I think there were only 300 of each of the various Telebration series made.

The reason I was waiting on Keiras post was because I bought this one :-[:-

I must admit I did replace the "perloid" tuner buttons with gold ones though.

Never forget the famous old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the Beer Holder".

So yes I cannot tell a lie, I own a pretty Fender Telecaster!!!!!
              ?

              GaryMac
with you on this one Gary. Don't mind my 'AK47's' smelling and looking good
? hehehheheh yeah gary ...... hope you don't take the slightest bit of offence to what i said re "pretty" tele's ...none intended ....... it's a personal choice and in fact one that relates to all my instruments.......

even when it comes to nylon string classicals .. i always hate the new looking ones and want the classical where the top has almost worn thru ........ i hate any of my guitars being new and shiny ......even my new tele and my new archtop jazz box i simply love the feel and tone but that new look ..... i can't wait to fast forward 15 years on both of them .......... hehehe but then i might be too old to enjoy them properly ...... at 65 but thats my "issue" ... and i've said this before.... i'd anyday take the more roadworn (but not damaged..as in neck or cracks ect ) guitar of 2 identical guitars at the same price......... ? and was not happy when i after months of seeking out a 2nd hand tele and one well roadworn i had to buy one new

but you know what they say ..'beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so yeah each to his/her own but the good thing is that it's a Fender telecaster ....

But Gary congrats on a fine tele......(despite me prefering beat up tele's ..(even mine is unfortunately pristine at moment...but still a damn fine instrument) tele's are pure magic ........... and great you have a 60 yr telebration model ..and if it's only from a run of 300 thats awesome. you got a gem
                  there ............

let me know if you gigging it somewhere , i'll pop in and check it out
