Hi all

Take a look at our little studio at our church. We've taken this one little room, built a 'soundproof' partition, boxed some acoustic foam, and vioala... No really it was damn hard work, but 2012 is going to be a great year for music making ?

looks amazing, are you going to record drums in there as well ?

We may do drums in there, but we have a really nice drum booth in the main auditorium which we'll probably use for tracking drums.
things that might improve the studio:

those monitors, get them higher to about ear level, will make monitoring more accurate, i'm assuming its the standard size 750mm high table. and maby some form of isolation between the desk and the speakers.
and maby move the desk just a little back and to the left if there is space, the right speaker is in the corner pretty much and will give an inaccurate reference of whats coming out of it. might cause phase problems with reflections behind the speaker.

the reason why is says this is, that you might be mixing at home, and if you are tracking the stuff might sound fat and amazing, but if you get to home it will sound completely different

why dont you put the desk against the wall, with the control room window on your left ?
how big is the control room?
the angled room roof is cool and a plus.
just check for reflections in the high end of the roof.
          Looks good.. have fun.
Thanks for the input Manfred ?

We have some brackets to mount the monitors on the wall, just haven't done that yet. Great advice about the speaker in the corner, the control room is just over half the size of the booth so we could easily put the desk against the right wall. +1 for this ?
yes you'll have better control over the acoustics if you put the desk against wall with the window to the left.
Yeah thanks Manfred, some good advice which we'll apply ?
Zayne! You finally joined the forum ?. Welcome!
                    Looks really good Garth!
