yup, and a nice site too. (guitartone, that is.) i mailed, entered, and got feedback really quick. if that's what the guys do for a simple comp, i would imagine they'd go even further out of their way if it meant a sale. (so i suppose this is a pretty good promo for them?)

i was going to try to get down their neck of the woods this month, but have had to postpone. ah well, just one more thing to look forward to - eventually.

    peace

      Surfed the site. Provided feedback.
      Nice stuff !!!
I may have entered as well... ?

Solid looking guitars I must say. I need a second guitar for standard tuning so I'm holding thumbs ?

aaaawww... pity. the fewer folks who enter, the greater me chances!

            +1!
It was partly the number of entries, but also partly so Gian can run it in conjunction with a review and ads in Muse mag.
I've stuck a hanger on the wall for this one already.

Oh, so I have to win a fancy schmancy guitar before you invite me around for a jam >☹
Ooooo Bokkie! Jy kan ma kom jam as jy wil jam.
                      I ve won, I ve won !!!!!!

sorry fellows, now all I need is a Swart Atomic Space Tone Master to pair the Buckster with....... 8)

must admit - this competiton is more than a little vague as to winning criteria?

without actually going to them in person, we must just look on the website and say what we think of them ? ?

what can we actually say ?? " nice color and cool shape"..??? what is the winning criteria?? the longest, most discriptive email they receive with the most droll over the guitars??

it really seems unclear as to what the criteria is to win something here?

or will they simply draw the emails out of the hat and an email simply saying "cool colors" wins it? ? ? ?

They are just looking for any and all thoughts about the products, and want whatever springs to mind - nothing specific. Yes, it's a little vague, but that is intentional - they want to see where it goes by itself.

It isn't a case of the best comment wins, more of a lottery drawn from those people who take the time to comment.

most competitions are a little basil fawlty when it comes to winning criteria. ? according to the cpa, they're all supposed to give you their terms and conditions of entry, how winners will will be drawn, exact descriptions of the prize(s)... frankly, it makes entering competitions more than a lot boring for me, not to mention that very few competitions offer me relevant prizes.

in this one: sent an email, got just about immediate feedback about what else they needed from me to complete my entry (as i've mentioned), and i'm happy knowing pretty much what i'm up for winning - and it'd be grand to win it. in fact, it'd be grand to see anyone on the forum winning it (as was mentioned in another thread, this is a great forum!). plus gian and crew get some free publicity and a little free dipstick market research. so - bonus all round.

problem may be that if you genuinely dont like the look of the prouct , you highly unlikely to win it. if you honestly say so.

so they could be looking at plenty of email feedback from people saying how they would give their left nut to win it blah blah blah...

That's a bit of a "glass half empty" assumption, isn't it? Anyone in the retail trade knows that negative feedback is as valuable as positive (or even more so). And knowing Gian, I think he would be the last person to penalise someone who didn't like a product.
