Ok so the RGA8's pickups isn't quite what I would call awesome and I've been on the hunt for some new pickups. I know that there's the EMG 808 and 808X, the Seymour Duncan Blackout 8's, and the Dimarzio D-Activator 8's and Bareknuckles and Lungdrens M8...(but lets leave the latter 2 out of the equation ?)
Whats the pros and con's of each because i cant hear any difference on youtube lol.

The 808's aren't too bad, especially if you are used to EMG's, flat response, clean sound and good output.
The 808x's have more headroom but the general sound is the same. Good for Cleans and they sound a bit more 'open'. Not the best, but better than normal EMG's.
The Blackouts have slightly boosted bass and treble. The result is a big sound! They sound more organic than the EMG's but have freakin high ouput.
The Dimarzios sound really good. I like every clip i have heard so far and i wouldn't mind getting some when i buy a cheap eight. They don't cost an arm and a leg and if you do not want to worry about batteries, they are the way to go!
My inbound Kxk has BKP aftermath's in. when i get them i'll give a review.

      Mainly this!

      I hate active pickups though...

Seriously though not only are they affordable but everything I've read and heard so far puts them right up there with Lundgren's M8s but warmer sounding.
Quite right Chad! And you can buy active covers to put over the Dimarzios. Not too expensive either?
