Tele for me - Prefer it's twangy sound and visual aesthetic to a Strat.
Strats always struck me as a bit generic looking, as "the good guy" guitar (except when Jimi is playing).

*disclaimer* These are of course purely subjective criteria

Wow, this is really a difficult/ unfair/ "which-child-would-you-save-if you-could-only-save-one" type poll. Because I could only vote once, I choose the Strat, but that is only because that was the first guitar I ever owned, but I love my Tele equally!!!!!! Fortunately I don't have to make that choice in real life!

The Fender Strat is "the Real thing", all the others are the 'generic looking things' ...... ? (But I get what you mean.....)

A Strat just looks more appealing to me and they also have nice contours to make it more comfortable to play.
I find the Tele headstock quite lame.

Superstrats are the H&K MP5s of the world. I'll take one of those any day.
Interestingly enough, you don't hear the term supertele being thrown around.

TADA! Now this, is a Tele. I will pick a tele over a Strat, anyday. And then a Strat over anything and everything else, so I'm a bit biased ?

New production guitar from Hugh Manson, called the MA-2. To me one of the most stunning Tele evolutions.

I like the Tele a lot, but the headstock kills it a bit. Anyone think it's pretty phallic? And ironic when all the country boys start pointing them at each other? ?
