TJs May 5 - GFSAers in action!

Warren and Fingerpicker from this forum will be performing. Yours truly will be MC.

Line up
* Warren - doing his own material, a world first!
* Richard Bruyns and Mike Burger - rootsy instrumentals. Mike is a very good finger style player with great touch and tone. Richard plays lap steel.
* Them Particles - roots rock. Think Tom Waits goes to the bayou (via Springs). They'll be doing an unplugged set on the night.
* John van Nierop and Scott Baldauf - blues and bluegrass. John on guitar, Scott on mandolin.
* Cellphone Cowboys - Fingerpicker's band. Laid back and soulful.

A trifling 25 SA ront at the door.

Doors open at 19:30. Music starts at 20:00.

Venue: Marks Park sports club, Judith Road, Emmarentia

Light meals and drinks available.

Look OK... I'm biased, but this is a good lineup and what else are you going to do on that particular night in this particular town for that particular amount of money? Stay at home and watch re-runs of Chuck and Di's wedding?

I'm a fan of the Squonkster, had him on my last bill and would like to put him on again some time (assuming TJ's keep asking me back for more). He did a good set. If you weren't there ... well then you're weren't there.

I'm seriously miffed that I'm gonna miss this. I had it solidly marked in my diary in a bold black marker, until I realised today that I will not be here. In fact, it was only on Tuesday that I found out I'd be flying today. But have fun and enjoy!

Indeed he does. Dax Butler - he's been around for years. I first saw him playing in 1979 in a band with the catchy name of "The Other Band". He's a good guy and a very interesting musician.
