As much as I love a lekker braai - I agree that we consume far too much meat. But.....

Rhino's are endangered - Cows/sheep etc are not.

Rhino's are not being killed for food - they are being killed for their horns which are made up of the same stuff that our fingernails are made of but because people think it has medicinal/magical properties it is worth more than gold.

They are also one of the big 5 and an icon of Africa which in my eyes makes them pretty special.

All animals are equal but Rhinos might just try and kill you and would be a lot harder to take down than a sheep ? It makes them an economically non-viable option as the job of slaughtering them would require "hazard pay", but just think of all the good nuts and saddles that you could make for acoustics....hmmm.... ?

Very cool. I can't believe this crap is starting again.

You've just gotta love the alternative medicine industry. Oh wait. No you don't.

It's been said many times before but it needs saying many more times:

Q: What do you call alternative medicine that works?

A: Medicine.
