I'm not so sure it's this. I think if I was a complete novice I'd still enter, just to get my entry out there.. If i was a pro, I'd enter, regardless of winning or losing. I'm not sure that that is the problem. Possibly the topics are too hard? Some of the earlier topics were possibly easier more 'fun' topics. Sunsets, bollywood, etc. Those are all open for interpretation.. Bach rock, as cool as it is, is hard, a beginner can't really enter a whole lot into that, no matter what the category.
I rate we re-try comps in the new year.
