My list changes all the time, but a few will always remain.

1- Hendrix
2- SRV

Both of the above two guys do that weird rhythm, with a grabbing motion, using their thumbs over the upper E... I know its apparently banjo related... but sheesh, Im not sure its normal or replicable. ?

3- Ry Cooder
4- Mark "Booga" Fowell
5- Slash
7- Howlin Wolf
8- Izzy Stradlin
9- Tommy Skeoch
10- Tom Fogerty
11- Neil Young

Today: 19 June 13 it would be Vicente Amigo. Mind's eye paint's these pictures of Spanish buildings and landscapes when I listen to him.

He stays out of the limelight so I think people dont notice how insanely awesome he actually is.

Even Angus says Malcolm is his hero. 'Nuff said...

If I recall correctly I once read an interview where Angus actually said Malcolm was a better lead player than him, but Angus' rhythm playing was somewhat sub par and so Malcolm stepped into that role figuring it was more important ?

Local bloke in Sasolburg by the name of Frank who plays a Strat McSomething that he modded. I'll try to get some pics. He is good man! He does Knopfler, Straits, Clapton and many more covers pretty near to the real thing. They do gigs at the Horse and River Pub in Vanderbijlpark on Wednesdays and the Magic Garden nursery in Vereeniging on Sundays.

Locally has to be Robin Gallagher - insane finger picker.

Worldwide David Gilmour who autographed my "The Black Strat" copy two years ago.

I am a 65 year old fart, and grew up in England with many of the big groups of the time.

Pink Floyd were a regular at our University Saturday night dances so I got to know then quite well as an organiser.

When I got my Dave Gilmour Strat the Black Strat book was signed by his roadie, so I sent it off to David's agent with a personal letter and David signed it and returned it to me.

In the States in July I got meet and greets for Lynyrd Skynrd and Bad Company.

Had to laugh when I met Paul Rogers and told him ' hey paul, the last time I met you was in Manchester in 1971", he replied "sorry I dont remember you".

We both had a giggle at that (typical British understatement).
