Ola guys

I cannot get my guitar to play through my PC, a month or so ago I got it to work cleanly through the Mic In, but I would always have a delay as well as it would not work via Guitar Rig 4.

Ive loaded the Asio drivers as well as the most recent Razer drivers, but nothing. Im trying to now get it to work via the Blue plug (line in)

MY PC:
Razer Barracuda AC-1 Soundcard
Windows 7 64 bit.

Anyone?
    Well, the line in needs a line level signal (probably the domestic -10dB in a soundcard like yours), which is many times louder than a guitar can output. So you'd need a preamp of some description - but you'd probably still be stuck with the latency, which is the soundcard/driver.

    The mic input has enough gain, but the impedance is wrong for a guitar (+/- 600ohm when it needs to be about 1 meg Ohm). Also mic inputs on domestic soundcards are notorious for their iffy sound quality.

    To be brutally honest, if you really want to plug your guitar in to your PC directly, get a proper sound interface that has a guitar/instrument input. M-Audio, ESI, Edirol, etc.. It'll save you tons of hassle and give you a much better sound quality.
      Eek...reason im trying this is because Ill be selling either my laptop or the main PC and my amp to pay for our Visa's and thus need to get something to play through.
        Guitar Rig is not an inexpensive solution anyway, and if you need additional hardware too... Might be best just to get a pocket POD, Behringer V-Amp or something similar secondhand.
          aja... I can get a Jamvox for R995 now, but cant warrant that cost as I need the money for Visa's
            Another cheap option is the Behringer uca202. About R400 -R500, have a look in the UK for them, even cheaper there.

                you can use any pedal that has a recording out, but you can also buy one of those jack to rca adapters.
