Just received my first fuzz eva(said with valley girl accent) about an hour ago.
Blackout Effectors Twosome.
I screamed like a pregnant woman in labour when I saw it...and then more when I heard it ?
MikeM
Danny B, it's a great pedal ? Enjoy!!!

Here's some brutal fuzz...

@Mika the better one, i think i read somewhere you now have the mxr 108, what is it like? to my ears that fuzz and the 2nd fuzz the dude tested in your first video post seemed to sound the sweetest. I REALLY wanna get a fuzz and think the mxr 108 (especially with that buffer) is the one to go for.
MIKA-the-better-one
I love the mxr 108.......... I was nervous it would suck at first........ thought the dmos it sounded to un fuzzy......... buthte thing can really pull of hendrix fuzz, to stone (satisfaction fuzz) chords on lower fuzz its cool, but at its best you crank then fuzz into a overdrive pedal and it really amazes me.
The buffer is good for humbuckers, this pedal without the buffer sucks with humbuckers, but i suggest, single coils with no buffer for a more open uncompressed fuzz, withthe buffer its less gain and more definition, but thats not why someone gets a fuzz..... is it.
Its a cool pedal, that also sounds great of of pedal power, and not only batteries........ And its solid.........
hope this helped, there are other cool fuzz face ish fuzzs I love and want but not enough to justify selling this.... so thats a good sign ?
any more questions

SWEET,think im sold ? i beleive its not too expensive either ? I am basically wanting a "hendrix" type fuzz for my single coil strat. Altho i generally want/use MORE gain than most,so my ideal would be more fuzzy than hendrix? ?
MIKA-the-better-one
I run it into my DLS, which is setup seuper low gain, just so when i really dig in it sparkles..... now throw the fuzz ontop, jeeeze its alot....... i run it aroun 60% anything over 75% it squeels and screams like mad........ which is cool sometimes..... and its not noisy either
Vick
If your going for a fuzz in that price range, don't forget to check out the way huge swollen pickle....lotsa gain, and supper flexible....if your importing then its only like 17 dollars extra....so yea, check out sum demos.....
Vick
O and mika,so I'm running the bluebox at about 11 o clock and after a flanger,wow,its insane,the thing stutters and goes mad....awsum
shadow1
that swollen pickle doesnt really sound fuZzy to me? seems like a sweet pedal tho.
Peppermint Fuzz check that one out!it seems amazing!
Vick
To each his own man.... ?
If your going in that price range, also check out the keely fuzz head
Its kinda a fuzz\dist blend,but amazing thou,but
I also have good faith in mika's taste, and you say you like the mxr...
So go for it man ?
MIKA-the-better-one
the swollen pickle, from demos, sounds awful...... BUT, in real life i was blwn away, it would actually be my second choice to the mxr, at that price range, its VERY versatile, and very cool.... MrM introduced me to one a while back when i was on my "no fuzz" stage........... i wanted it then...... so really a good pedal.
It gives you fuzz face and muff, and superfuzz.............. The mxr comapred is less gain, and a little more hendrixy in my opinion.
I wish i could post you some sound bites of the new cd i have been working on with all the fuzz, from MXR fuzz 108, and Blue box (which is now in better hands) :'(

I don't know what Neil Young was using here, but I really like this sound. The real deal and one of the rockin'est songs from the psychedlic era. Almost has that Love, 7 and 7 is, garage vibe:

I don't think neil uses a fuzz,or any od or boost for that matter,he just cranks his fender tweeds...seriously
I also kind founf it hard to belive til I heard a fender 59 bassman clone cranked,it gets fuzzzzy

This was like, 1967. I think his rig was different back then. If that wasn't fuzz, I'll eat my shoe.

I am in Joburg for business at the moment and finally managed to go to Music Connection...WOW!!!!what a store!amazing stuff! woudl have loved to take that SRV strat home ? (suprisingly heavy for a strat)
ANyways they never had much stock of FUZZ pedals but i ended up taking the MXR classic 108 fuzz ...it sounded great, hope it sounds god on my rig at home....very keen to boost it with a TS??not sure if that will work....still looking a little big muff....

It's all stuff from his post 1970 lineup with the Les Paul. It's freakin' impossible to find anything about how they recorded Mr. Soul. I've found a couple of things on forums. One - and it sounded less like guesswork - claimed they plugged into mic preamps and overdrove the hell out of them, and others say that he owned a tonebender - which sounds about right.
But it's definitely not just the gretsch into the deluxe.

thought i'd inject some more life into this thread, in the form of a kickass psych rock band i've just discovered.
sounds like a big muff? if not what is it? i want.
