So since watching Seasick Steve videos on Youtube I fell in love with his Mississippi Drum Machine, the foot stomp box thing he uses.
I decided to try build one myself. This is the first proof of concept, I actually just built the very rough cut box during lunchtime to see if the size and height of it works for my gigantic feet.
Then I wrapped an old mic I had lying around in a fleece beanie, EQ'd the highs and mids all the way down, and the bass all the way up.
It actually works quite well! Makes a lekker "thump" sound when you tap your foot. Having a lot of fun playing slide guitar and stomping away.
I found loads of commercially available ones, but it seems that making one can't be all that difficult, so I'm going to give it a bash
I'll build a slightly more decent one at a later stage, hopefully find a mic that I can build in there with a guitar jack plug that I can just plug a lead into, but will need someone with more electronics skills to help out.
