Valve order from Tube Depot, need collaborators.

ezietsman · 2010-07-02T12:36:08+00:00

Hello All. So I think I may need some new valves soon and I see from other posts and people that www.tubedepot.com is a good place. Problem is, my HT-5 only uses 2 valves and I thought of getting 2 different 12ax7s to try and one 12bh7 which comes to a royal total of around $35. Looks like the 7-10 day shipping is $30 so I'll more or less pay double to get those 3 valves here. Nick expressed interest in piggy backing on my order so hence, will anyone else be interested in ordering some valves? To make things a bit easier it would make sense to have people who live in and around Cape Town join, else I have to go and faff around in post offices too much. On the other hand, if someone else in CPT is going to order some valves soon, can I piggyback on your order?

Ok guys I'd like to round up this order by Friday 22nd if possible.

Those in so far:
Rikus
Skywalker
Nick

Please send me a list of the exact spares you want and I will total up everything, add shipping, VAT, ad valorem TAX and clearance fees and let you know the final cost per person.

FenderBender

@Gearhead: I'm happy to send off a parcel from CT to JHB to help you guys out.

@Aja: If you want in, let me know what you want and I'll send up a parcel for you and GH.

@Nick: I still need to work out the totals for the order, which is now HUGE and then liase with td re the shipping. I will also need all the cash upfront for the order, so I think it best to wait for payday. I'll get back to everybody with totals shortly.

Reinhard wants 2 pairs of matched Sovtek EL84s, same as my order just 2 (ie 4 tubes in total)

Shipping is $34.95 (divide by? 5 for ea), what is clearance usually?

AndrewD

http://mrvalve.wordpress.com/ - an option for you guys perhaps?

FenderBender

@AndrewD: Thanks mate, good prices but not everything that the guys need.

@Nick: You need to add VAT@14% and Ad Valorem TAX@7.6%
Clearance fees on the total order approx R250+VAT.

Did you include Reinhards order in the total? Free shipping over $99. Bulk Orders ftw 8)

Cool, will add Reinhard's order too ?

What I think we need to do is close the order on this thread so I can retotal the whole shebang. Let's make the closing time midnight on Monday morning. Then I will recalculate everything, send everyone an invoice and pop the order through when all cash is in.

I need to know who is definitely in. So far: Nick, David, Luke, Reinhard. Rikus needs to confirm and aja still needs to give me his order.

BTW the free shipping over $99 is for US purchases only :'( but it's still only $35 in total for us!

rikus

Hey Graeme, I'm still in!

FenderBender

Cool Rikus! We have five confirmations now.

Gearhead

Must count me out ☹

Gearhead next time you want in let me know and we can organize something...
